The doubt inside (Jack V)

Tristan began to wonder if she would ever fit in at Hogwarts. Everyone else seemed to have a group they belonged to. Everyone else had their friends and they knew where they belonged. They knew where they fit in. She was scared to begin her life at the new school. What if no one liked her? She ordered a butterbeer and sighed as she sipped the cold drink.

It didn't take Jack long to slip away from his family while they shopped endlessly for supplies in the crowded alley. He didn't want anything to do with shopping this year, as cool as the alley had seemed during previous visits. That was because magic was new then, and Jack had been mildly impressed by it. But now, it was nothing new. It was almost boring. So he escaped and found his way back into the damp pub that they'd entered through.

Jack was planning on heading out into normal London in search for something to keep himself busy. Maybe he'd find a pickup game or something to join somewhere. But he figured that while he was in the pub, be might as well stop and get a drink. Unfortunately, it was pretty busy - but Jack noticed that one table only held a small girl with brown hair. He wouldn't be in the pub long, so he approached her and smiled. "D'you mind if I take a seat here?" he asked the girl, who couldn't be more than eleven. "It's full everywhere else, and I'll only be here a minute."

"Huh?" Tristan looked up at the sound of a voice. "Oh, um, yes. Be my guest." She nodded toward the chair and sipped her drink.

She looked at the boy and smiled, "I'm Tristan. Tristan Lycanthe. But you can call me Tris." She held her hand out to the boy and gave him a warm smile.
