Undetected [Kensi] Empty
PostSubject: Undetected [Kensi]   Undetected [Kensi] EmptySun Jul 06, 2014 10:30 pm

Today was a good day. James felt as if nothing could annoy him today. Not even ignorant ministry workers. So he decided to leave his mansion and take a stroll down Diagon Alley. Of course, his strolls there often winded up in Knockturn Alley, but it didn't matter. He had business to attend to in Borgin and Burkes, so he could do that when he found himself walking down that glum lane.

But first, Diagon Alley. He apparated into central London in a backalley. Unfortunately, he appeared in front of a couple of muggles. And they seemed to be bullying another muggle. Well, now they weren't. Now they were looking at James as if they had gone completely mad. James raised an eyebrow. He should kill them. But then again, James didn't care about magical laws. If people didn't believe magic that was their problem. James had a brilliant idea.

Suddenly he plastered a huge, sweet grin on his face. "Now now, don't look at me like that, I am your conscience," he said to none of them in particular. The two boys instantly looked at the kid they were bullying. A girl, it seemed, though her hair was cut short. And not in the pretty helmet kind of way. James sighed. "Bullies are such easy targets. Just find out what's going on at home, and they will never bother you again," he said airily before floating on, literally, having cast a floating charm on his boots.

And then he was entering through the Leaky Cauldron into Diagon Alley. What a place. Too many people. Much too much laughter. Ah well, James was in a good mood. So they didn't bother him as much as they normally would have. He looked into the different windows, wondering if he might want to go buy a book or a broom or something more expensive.

But it didn't take long before he found himself in the dank and gloom street of Knockturn Alley. And one of the first shops would be Borgin and Burkes. He might as well spare himself the time that would be wasted if he went further into the street to find other interesting shops. So he walked into the shop that had become something of a familiar place to him.

The creaking in the floorboards made him feel almost nostalgic. It had been quite a while since he'd been there last. But now he had heard rumors of the shop holding an item he dearly wanted to possess. He knew this object wouldn't be in the exhibit. He was curious to see who the shopkeeper was, but first, his eyes landed on a woman standing with her back towards him.

She seemed to be looking into one of the cabinets on the left side. He walked towards her, the creaky boards making him unable to walk over undetected. When he reached her, he looked at what she was looking at. "Like what you see?" he asked in his velvet tone.

The day had started out normal. She called in sick to work because she was really starting to hate her job. The title was actually more interesting than the actual job which was pathetic. She wasn’t sure what she had volunteered as tribute for when she took it. She just scrolled down the list of open jobs, and hitwitch/wizard sounded the most interesting, and now, she was regretting it one-hundred percent.

And not only did she have a stupid job, but a stupid boss as well. And not only was her boss stupid, but her bosses boss (Jeremy) was stupid as well. Ugh…Ministry work was so frustrating. Why couldn’t she have chosen to become a writer or healer instead?

Now she wanted to rebel, and becoming evil was the first thing that came to her mind. She knew evil people went to Knockturn Alley in their free time, so she decided to start there. She walked down the creepy alley way that wasn’t actually that creepy. It was kind of cool (first sign of evilness).

What did she want to accomplish when she became evil? Well… She had some ideas, but she didn’t dare say them out loud. Just her thinking them would get her sent to Azkaban on the spot. So, she kept her mouth shut on that part (second sign of evilness). When she watched super hero movies, she ALWAYS wanted the villain to win. It had to be the villain. She felt kind of bad for them because they NEVER won. Well, she was one now too. So she would certainly change that.

She began reflecting on all the evil things she had done as a child. She stole her sister’s candy (a lot). She took a red balloon from a girl she didn’t particularly like in the park, and the balloon was cool, so win/win situation, mostly for her. She had thrown a rock at her sister’s car window when she was sixteen because she was pissed. That was probably the worst thing she ever did. She now realized that she was randomly walking around Knockturn Alley. She wanted to see what items some shops had. She didn’t even look at one, and decided to go in. It was a creepy looking shop with creepy looking items that were actually quiet cool.
She looked around at the glass display case and saw some things that even she couldn’t pronounce the names to. She came to a cabinet and stared at it. It was mysterious, and she wondered what was in it. She took her hand to the doorknob. She felt like she was in a scary movie.

She was the idiot girl whom everybody is yelling at to NOT go in the closet because the killer is in there ready to kill. Well, she was evil now right? She had to be brave, and not scared at doing shit that normal people would find scary.

She was just about to open the cabinet when somebody came behind her and said, “Like what you see?” She jumped back ten feet from the cabinet, and actually managed to punch the guy in the face with her hand. She asked, “Oh…my…gosh…How clumsy of m-I mean… I meant to do that.” She needed to work on this whole “being evil” thing.

James was expecting her surprise, even despite all the sound the floorboards had been making in his approach. So when a fist flew to his face, he wasn't shocked and managed to grab a hold of it, though the impact was much fiercer than he had expected from the girl, and therefore, his own hand made contact with his jawline, but it didn't budge his face. He raised an eyebrow, but didn't let go of her fist, holding it next to his face still.

He chuckled as she said she meant to do it. James didn't quite know what to make of her turn of speech, but simply lowered the hand he was holding and turned his own around so that a handshake could be given. "James," he said coolly, starting to realize that this girl wasn't just an ordinary customer of Knockturn Alley. She seemed to be trying out something new. Well, that was always interesting. And perhaps James being there was the perfect timing.

"You've yet to answer my question," he said smugly, retreating his hand and taking a step back, nodding towards the cabinet. "It won't spring a bucket of gooey stuff at you," he said in a tone that dared her to open the cabinet. He knew what it was, it was nothing dangerous unless she walked into it, the door was shut and someone mumbled a certain incantation. Who knew where the twin cabinet was. He simply looked on to see what she would do.

Kensi quickly pulled her hand out of the strange dude called James's fist. She hadn't actually hit him, which was good. She didn't want to die at that particular moment. He asked if she liked what she saw once more. She replied, "I guess. It's just an old cabinet. Nothing special about it."

She shrugged along with that. This fellow was strange. She still held on to her fist for dear life, afraid that he might try and attack her. But she could take care of herself. She was a hitwitch after all.

She smiled and realized she had yet to introduce herself. She said, "I'm Kensi. Pleasure to meet you James...I think." There she goes. She loved being sarcastic to strangers. It was fun!

To keep the conversation interesting, she asked, "Do you know what the cabinet is? It has to be something to do with dark magic if it's in Borgin and Burkes." She giggled a little bit. Not in a flirtatious way, but in a "ha-ha she made a funny" kind of way.

She waited for his answer, and started observing him. She wanted to know what she was up against if he decided to attack her in the store. Surly he wouldn't do it in broad day light. That wouldn't be very nice of him. And if it was in broad daylight, she'd have witnesses. And that would benefit her. Then again...It was Knockturn Alley.
