Term 6, Lesson 1, Year 1

Lucia gave Ms. O'Donnell half a smile. "I think that you should probably go sleep some after this class, then, if it is not just due to the slugs," she said softly. And then she took out her wand. "But this will help your nausea," she added and pointed her wand at Ms. O'Donnell's tummy. "Sanandum Corpore," she muttered, and a soft, yellow light shot from the tip of her wand.

She gave ms. O'Donnell a questioning look to see if she was better, even though Lucia was pretty sure it would've worked. "Maybe you should go to the infirmary as well, just to make sure it's not the flu?" she suggested; she knew what a flu could do to this school.

Lucia then rose from her desk. "Everyone! Class is finished. Now, please give me a sample of your potion and put it on my desk. I will grade them when everyone's left," she said softly.

Hunter had stopped what he was doing to see what was wrong with Aoife, and hadn't noticed that he'd left his flame burning. The Professor told him to put it out if he didn't want to ruin his potion, and he quickly extinguished it. He didn't want to have put all that hard work in for nothing. He watched on curiously as Professor Henley offered to perform a spell that would make Aoife feel better. All the times he'd been sick as a little kid, and wizards had a spell that took away nausea? That was so unfair! But now, he was a wizard, so at least that meant he'd learn it one day. And then he'd never be sick again!

Hunter couldn't tell whether the spell had made Aoife feel better or not. Hopefully it did. When Professor Henley ended class, Hunter took out one of his glass flasks and scooped some of his potion into it. He felt surprisingly good about the way his potion turned out - not that he'd know the difference if it were good or bad. Maybe this would finally be a subject that he was really good at! He needed one of those. A good subject. Because he wasn't very good at most of them. He took his potion sample up to the Professor's desk, left it there, and made his way out of the room so that he wouldn't be late for his next class.

That felt odd, when Professor Henley did the spell. It made her feel a bit better, but her stomach still hurt a bit. At least she didn't feel like she would throw up any minute anymore. "Thanks, Professor," Aoife smiled weakly. "I feel a bit better now."

Fortunately, she didn't have a class next so she could take the professor's advice and go and sleep now. "I think I'll go to the Hospital Wing a bit later, if I still feel...icky." She wasn't going to get a good grade, though, since she'd only got to about step two, but at least there was a good reason for it. And she didn't particularly care about one grade, anyway.

As she left the room, she smiled again at the professor thankfully and gave Hunter a small wave. Sleep. That would be fun.
