New Friends

Kim woke up excitedly not knowing where is the first place she would go. Since it is the first day of classes, meeting new friends is the first thing to do on her list. She left the girl's dormitory and descended the stairs leading to the common room. There, she sat down near the fire place and waited until someone comes.

Isabella yawned and walked down to the common room. She decided to sit next to the fireplace to warm herself up. She sat down and realized that there was a girl sitting by the fireplace. Isabella knew that she recognized her from somewhere.
"Oh yes! She's in my year! I have just been so nervous I haven't talked to anybody." Isabella cleared her throat. "Um, hi. I'm Isabella. What's your name?"

"Hi, I'm Kim. Nice to meet you." Kim held her hand towards Isabella, having to shake her hand for the first time. Kim can't hide her excitement, meeting a person included at the same house as she was. Looking at her, she realized that she does recognize Isabella from the night of the sorting ceremony.

"Congratulations. We've been sorted at the house of Slytherin, though I think that house-discrimination shouldn't be allowed at this point." Kim stood up and fixed her robe, covering her body from the cool breeze of the morning. Then, she went towards the window and closed it, having the right temperature a normal person would have. "Anyways, have you met somebody else besides me? Being alone in this very big castle is not an option for a student."

"Well, I have this one girl from Ravenclaw, Aurora Finnigan, and a boy that is also from Ravenclaw, James Riddle. Aurora and I are going to the lake in a couple of minutes, would you like to come?" Isabella hoped that Kim would come because she didn't want to be in this huge school with only two friends.

As soon as Isabella mentioned the two other students from Ravenclaw, Kim felt like she was falling behind on meeting some students from outside her house. But not accepting the first invitation Isabelle threw Kim would feel bad on her part. Though hesitating about it, Kim agreed to come with them.

"Lead the way," she told Isabella, who, without hiding her emotions, obviously felt excited about it.

"Ok," Isabella said. "Now, Aurora is coming to the lake, but James is staying behind to go to the library."

Lucy rubbed her hands against her eyes; she was still tired. Two girls were leaving the Common Room.
Oh, I really need to start talking to people, she thought to herself.
Without hesitation, she called to the other two girls, who seemed to be in her year.
"Hey! Are you going somewhere? Mind if I join?" she asked them with a smile.

"Actually, she's going to the lake. As for me, well, I'll think about it," Kim answered gladly. "Since she's going to the lake with some friends, if you want to stay here in the room, I'll be gladly to stay with you."

Lucy thought about the offer, but decided to tad along.
" I would love to go to the lake." She answered, excitement clear in her voice.

"Alright then!" Kim said, trying not to put her hopes too high. "I'm Kim, by the way. Her name is Isabella. You are?" she asked the girl, sounding friendly.

"I'm Lucy. Lucy Malfoy." she answered proudly. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Hi, Lucy. Nice to meet you too," she replied politely. "Just follow Isabella. We'll be in the lake in no time."

Lucy's eyes lit up, "Sure, although I already know where the lake is," she said as she walked out the door.

Ella sat up in bed. If I don't start talking to some people, I'll never make friends, she thought. She threw on her robes and quietly walked to the common room. She noticed it was empty and wondered where everyone went. "Hmm oh well, I'll just go to the Great Hall." she said to herself.
