Family: Landry was raised by his cocky uncle David in the historic town of Los Angeles California In America. His uncle David was a carefree dude and taught Landry to be the same. David owned his own surf shop, and made homeade surfboards. They lived in a flat above the shop, so David and Landry where there all the time. David never married and never really had serious relationships, but Landry grew up believing that one day he would meet the perfect person. Despite growing up with his uncle, Landry was born to Sandra and Percy Simpson. Landry was never told how he got to live with his uncle instead of his parents. He isn't aware of any siblings that he may or may not have.
Growing up, it was just him and his uncle. David always told him that it was better to live alone and away from family drama. David is a sketchy man, and likes to keep to himself, but is always there for Landry if he needs it, except when asking questions about his parents and the rest of his family and why David left, and took Landry with him. David tells Landry that all that really happend is that there was some disagreements about his parents parenting, and their life style. The muggle court was involved, and David won custody. Landry never asks too many questions, or goes searching for more details because he actually loves living with david, so he's ok with the whole parental abandonment thing.
Sandra and Percy Olsen met because they where neighbors throughout their entire childhood. They grew to be best friends from the first day they met. Percy was told that when Sandra went away during the year, she was going to boarding school, and missed her terribly. But it didn't stop them from being best friends.the long distance relationship thing worked for them. It was when Percy proposed to Sandra when she decided to tell him about her being a witch. He freaked out like any guy would, but couldn't go a day without talking to her, and accepted her differences.
When Percy decided to go to muggle law school, at George Town in Virginia, Sandra followed him and started healing school. They decided they wouldn't get married until after they where both graduated and had stable jobs. It wasn't until Peters fourth year of law school that he started acting strange and Sandra didn't like it. She found out that he had been using drugs the entire time they had moved to Washington, D.C. Around the same time, Sandra found out that she was pregnant with Percy's baby, and felt like she was stuck in the relationship. Sandra was close to David, who was Peters brother, and asked him for advice a lot. When Landry was born, Percy still hadn't cleaned up his act, so Sandra decided to give the baby to David, against Percy's wishes until Percy cleaned up.
With his addiction being so strong, it was hard to. Percy took David and Sandra to court, and Percy lost. Sandra gave full custody of Landry to David to protect him. In secret, David changed His and landrys last name to Simpson, so it would be impossible for Percy to track them down. It was then David decided to go to LA to complete his dream of opening a surf board shop with his new son, Landry.

History: Living directly on the beach wasn't a terrible childhood for Landry. He loved to water, and playing in the sand. He grew up a happy child, despite having only his uncle around as his guardian. He enjoyed learning about making surf boards, and grew to love the sport himself. He wasn't your "typical surfer dude", he actually cared about his education even as a child. It was when he was 7 did things start to get weird. He noticed that when he got angry at something a light would flicker on and off, or if he was REALLY mad, something would explode. He was unsure of what this was and was too afraid to tell his uncle that this was happening. This happened throughout his childhood until he turned 11 he got a letter that changed his life for the good.
He found out he was a wizard, and was sent to Salem. Being away from everything he knew was terrifying to him. He was away from the water, the surf board shop, and Uncle David. He missed it terribly, and had a bad attitude towards the school going into it. He acted out so much, and got loads of detentions just in his first month. They surprisingly didn't expel him. He was told he had to stay there during the holidays because David couldn't afford to send him back and forth which made him upset and act out more. It was because of David that he met his best friend, Zoey Cavanaugh, who was just as bad as him.
Together, the two pulled pranks and initially made the professors lives a living hell. But Zoey and Landry didn't care. They where two peas in a pod and best friends. They both hated their situation and could do nothing about it. By their fifth year, they decided that they needed to buckle down and get serious about their studies. They kept their pranks up to a minimum but didn't do it quiet as often. It was then Landry started seeing things in a whole new light. He really liked this one guy, but was too afraid to say the words out loud to anyone, especially Zoey. He could tell that Zoey was starting to like him, so brushed his feelings for the guy he liked aside, and went for Zoey. She would be the easy way out of his situation, and that's all he saw it as.
Being with Zoey wasn't so bad. They didn't move fast, and didn't take things too seriously. It was basically like being best friends with her and not her boyfriend. It was easy. And Landry liked easy. They never fought, and by seventh year, their attitude towards school changed by 150%. Though the future scared Zoey shitless, she loved Landry, and showed him the night after graduation. Landry didn't ask her to marry him, but he did ask her to come live with her in LA. He had visited her home a dozen times, but she hadn't visited his once. She finally agreed, and soon they had bought an apartment close to the surf shop.
Two years after school ended, Zoey was always waiting for Landry to take their relationship to the next level, but with his cockiness and his fear of taking things seriously, he never did. Finally, Zoey felt like she had to take things into her own hands, and she proposed to him. He of course was shocked, but said yes right away. When it came to wedding planning, Landry was terrified. He kept coming up with excuses to delay it. They where now 23 and had been engaged since they where 20. Zoey understood that Landry needed time. He wasn't great with commitment, and she was surprised he was still with her. At age 28, with still no wedding, Zoey was finally done. She told him that he needed to get his shit together, and marry her or leave. He did the thing she thought he would never do. He left. He went far away and applied to a job at Hogwarts. He got it, and now teaches care of magical creatures.
Appearance: Landry is your typical "beach bum". He has sandy blond hair, and hazel green eyes. He keeps his face clean shaven like a baby's bum, and he has contacts, but can also be seen with glasses. Being raised like a muggle, he wears their clothing. He can be seen usually in cargo shorts with a button down top, or a regular old t-shirt. Despite having lived on the beach his entire life, Landry is pale white. Every time he went out of the surf shop, he would have to put on basically a whole bottle of sunscreen so his poor body wouldn't burn.
Personality: Landry is your classic jokester and prankster. He's hilarious, and doesn't know how to take things seriously. Through out his life he got into trouble for his pranks and jokes, now he slacks off a little bit on the jokes, but he still does them. He is afraid of commitment as he hasn't come to terms as too who he really is. Which is why he fled from Zoey when he had the chance too. It broke his heart, and he'll never be so trusting towards men or women again relationship wise. He's hoping that moving to a new country will help him with his struggles.
He's also hoping that by changing his place of shelter wi change his attitude on life. He wouldn't admit it, but he's really depressed because he doesn't know who he is, or where he came from. He's hoping that moving will help shine some light in his depressing life. He doesn't blame Zoey or his uncle for anything he's going through. He blames himself. And that scares him. He realized that he wasn't truly happy with Zoey, having cheated on her twice though he won't ever tell her. And as far as he knows, she hasn't found out. He left the relationship in a flash so she wouldn't know or found out later.
Landry is really pretty smart despite what his grades would say. He got poor marks on purpose to not mess with his "class clown" reputation. He got high enough marks to just be able to get into a decent school to teach. He's not sure why he chose teaching of all professions. He guessed it was to see what it felt like to put in the position of the teacher. He had messed with them all his life, so now it was his turn, and his attitude change that made him do it.
Phin was literally done with life. Done with everything. He had officially lost his best friend to his worst enemy, school was sucking, and Chad wasn't there for him like Phin thought he would be. When Chad offered to take him in, Phin thought it would be the best thing ever. He would have somebody to relate too to talk to about girls, share his problems with, and just over all have somebody who actually cared about him. But when he moved in, it had been the exact opposite. He had come to realize that living with his uncle wasn't going to be as great as it sounded. All Chad ate was pizza rolls. Phin literally facepalmed at Chad's very first Muggle Studies lesson when he introduced the pure-bloods to the "joys" of getting fat off of Pizza rolls. Now that Phin had them for all of the summer term, he was sick of them. He didn't have a taste for ice cream anymore either, as sometimes Chad was lazy and wanted to eat that for breakfast.
But, life with Chad wasn't all too terrible. He was mainly on his own, nobody was telling him what to do, and he could make his own decisions without getting in trouble for them. After a while, Phin didn't think that was a good idea, but now, since he was experimenting with pudding and Bertie Bots Every Flavor Beans, it was nice to not have somebody asking what he was doing every five seconds. But at times, like when he got drunk at the New Years Party, he kind of wished he had somebody yelling at him and telling him that what he did was wrong. But instead, he just ended up in the bathroom humiliated.
So at this point, everything was going wrong for Phineas Button. He had no real guardian, no friends really anymore, and the only promising thing he had going for him was his pudding company, if he could get the formula right. His grades where sucking, and if he didn't pull it together, he'd fail his OWLs which were next term. But Phin was done. Phin was giving up. He was going to run away, and never look back to his Hogwarts days. He wasn't going to talk to Aoife ever again, or get pushed around by Hunter, he was going to make his own rules and be on his own. Which he technically was now, but he had a roof over his head.
Phin shouldered his bag with what little belongings he had. He had made a stop at the apartment and got most of his clothes, and a picture of him and Chad in Italy. That had been the best summer of his life, but he was pretty much done with life with Chad. He had bought a ticket to Diagon Allley and planned on getting a job there. But as soon as the train pulled up, Phin couldn't find himself to move. The warning whistle blew and Phin decided at the last minute to run and catch the train before it was too late. But in doing so, Phin ran straight into an older boy, and Phin's stuff went everywhere. He looked up and panicked as the train pulled away from the station, not even caring to apologize to the man he ran into.
