| Fin was just as excited as usual to be returning to work for another term of teaching the dense, ignorant and ungrateful students. That was, not at all excited. He'd rather enjoyed the break, mainly just staying at home, reading, concocting, painting the kitchen, that sort of thing. Obviously returning to Durmstrang wasn't the worst thing ever; if it was, he wouldn't be teaching here. The job itself wasn't so bad, he supposed. It was just some aspects of it. Namely, the vast majority of students he had to teach. The job did have its advantages. He got paid a fuckload, and the food here was quite excellent. Despite his advanced elixirs ability, making any food that was even slightly edible was far beyond him. He'd mainly lived on toast and takeaway pizza over the summer holiday.
By the time he reached the school, settled back into his chambers, changed into nicer robes and got to the dining room, he was absolutely starving. He hadn't eaten since breakfast. This was unlike Fin, and he was not used to the huge hole in his stomach craving the wonderful Durmstrang food. At least he would appreciate the meal more when he got it. Only a few of the students had arrived from the ship so far, which meant he would be forced to wait even longer than he had already had. While his expression and manner stayed as placid and stolid as usual, he was losing it a little bit.
Deciding he may as well go and sit down and make small talk with his fellow professors if necessary, he went to take a seat at the staff table, next to the deputy highmistress. "Good evening, Professor Frost," he greeted politely as he sat. That was her name, was it not? It was quite surprising how little he had talked to the other professors here, despite having worked alongside most of them for at least a year. Maybe it wasn't. Maybe his unsociable nature made it quite believable that he knew nothing about any of these people. Colleagues. "I trust you enjoyed your summer?" Based on first impressions of the woman from last year, he imagined her as a bit strange - not the type of person he would choose to befriend in any other situation. Not that he would willingly befriend anyone in a situation of choice.

| Another term another year another moment what did it matter. Life was life and everyone was doomed but here he was yet again back to teach those who deemed themselves worthy enough to go to Durmstrang. He honestly thought that the school should be an all exclusive pureblood school but those in power had been forced into letting others who had a least an once of wizarding blood in their parents into the school.
Why he didn't know but he didn't care. He taught his job to the kids and kept to himself. The pay wasn't bad and in the process he could recruit those who felt the same as he did. After arriving to the castle he went to his cabin and got his things settled back in. Looking outside he sighed. The weather here was dreary as usual and he made his way for the castle and more specifically Valhal.
Making his way in he made way for his spot at the staff table. Nodding to the other professors that were here he looked at the hall in front of him. There was one good thing about the place. It had nice food. He hated cooking himself even though he could if he wanted but here he didn't have to worry and it was really good.
