Lauren picked up her stuff and moved her seat to the other side of the classroom. She couldn't really take anymore of this stuff. Lauren sat at her new seat and put her head on the desk.

Hunter sighed in irritation as Ryan so rudely interrupted his conversation by storming over and acting all manly. Hunter turned to look at him, and raised an eyebrow when the boy dared him to say what he said again. Hunter wasn't one to fight, really. And he wasn't looking for one. But he wasn't afraid of being hit, and was hardly one to back down from some git who was trying to show him up. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that, though.

"I told you," he repeated evenly, "to shut it. And you might want to consider taking a seat before you make a fool of yourself," he added. Then the girl Ryan was talking to was telling him to stop and everything. Smart girl, Hunter thought to himself, turning back toward his own friends to indicate that he could care less about their little romantic spat. He couldn't help but smirk a bit, though, when the girl changes seats so that she was sitting away from Ryan.

"Hi Hunter!" Aoife beamed when her best friend sat down. Blake came in next and it was amusing to see Hunter have a go at the idiot of a first-year. Hunter didn't seem as nice this year, but that was good, because nobody liked a nice guy, and everyone needed to have a bit of inner git. What was it with Ryan and getting into fights, though?

He started talking about bad experiences with Evan and she nodded her head in agreement. "Good thing I saved your life!" she teased. Somewhere, deep, deep, deep down she still liked Evan a tiny bit. But she still wanted to throw him off the astronomy tower if she ever got the chance. "It was cool, though. I met Logan and got to wear awesome sunglasses all day." Fun times.

Then the heartless little dinosaur himself came into the room. And sat down. If there was one thing she knew about Evan, it was that he hated unicorn blood. But the other thing she knew was that he was evil, and he didn't do something for the fun of it. Which meant he had a plan. Probably endangering someone's life. Rather than say anything, simply because she was curious, Aoife just glared at him.

Ryan hit his head on the table and groaned. He looked up at Lauren and hoped she could see the pain etched across his face. He had screwed up. But he would fix this. He would find a way to fix this.

Blake swivelled around in his chair, looking to see who had used that stupid nickname. Ryan, he had seen him being all pally with Nessa so he should've known. But before Blake could say anything Hunter was sticking up for him. He was never living this nickname down. At least Hunter wasn't laughing about it this time, it was actually quite the opposite. Hunter was glaring at Ryan, daring him to say it again. All of a sudden Ryan was on his feet and the whole thing was blown out of proportion. Blake remained in his seat, portraying calm but if Ryan did come any closer and lay a hand on Hunter he knew exactly where his wand was. "Yeah, sit down Ryany-poo." Blake said sweetly, smirking at him after the other first year had urged him to sit down. At least she didn't agree with the nickname. It was girly!

Blake returned to look at Hunter after leaving the two first years to themselves. He also noticed Nessa sitting by herself, obviously something had happened there. These first years were full of drama! "oh jeez, some guy." Blake grimaced at the thought of the class now. "he would hardly do anything with a professor around, would he?" Blake sounded skeptical, if he could attack two first years he wouldn't put anything past him. And there were dangerous plants everywhere at his disposal. He was right, this class was going to be fun he thought sarcastically to himself.

Ariel skipped down the halls of the castle and out to the grounds. Herbology! Was that going to be fun? Hopefully! She giggled and laughed to herself, feeling really light. DaDA had been fun, so she hoped this lesson would be equally epic! She found the greenhouses easily, but wondered which was greenhouse one. She frowned and looked around when she heard someone yelling.

She quickly dashed to that greenhouse and looked inside. This was her class. Her good mood fell instantly. Ruckus. Drama. Seriously? What the hell was that all about? They were first years! Did people already have enemies? That was well done. Ariel rolled her eyes to herself and then saw Hunter, Blake and Aoife. She felt her mood improving at that and skipped over to them.

"Heya wonderful people," she said happily, sitting down next to them. "What's going on?" she asked, looking around the class, noticing the tension of it.

Ryan rolled his eyes and glared at Vanessa, "Shut up Slytherin." He was tired of that girl and her stupid Princess attitude. He had upset Lauren, and he would not forgive her for that. What he wouldnt give to just hex the daylights out of her. He smiled at the thought and laughed to himself.

It was time for Herbology. Seren was actually looking forward to this class this year, because last year it had turned out to be pretty interesting. That was mostly because of the AWESOME teaching assistant, Evan, who was a Ravenclaw like her! He was basically the only nice person she'd met in the ENTIRE school. Except for Hunter, but he was too infatuated with his STUPID, UGLY RED HAIRED GIRLFRIEND to realize how beautiful and perfect Seren was. But she would change that!

When Seren arrived at greenhouse one, she caught the end of some kind of argument between Hunter and a first year boy. She rolled her eyes as she watched a younger girl whine and beg the boy to stop. Oh PLEASE. These first years had better learn to stay out of her way, or Seren would unleash her wrath on them if they annoyed her too much.

Since now was as good a time as any to make her entrance, she went into the greenhouse. She noticed Evan sitting in the middle of the classroom (almost like he was a student.) She wasn't sure what he was doing, but she thought it would be okay if she went and sat near him for now. "Hello Hunter!" she said sweetly as she passed the boy, ignoring the terror sitting beside him. It looked like Hunter had made a new friend this year as well! One that wasn't a psycho hopefully. Either way, the boy sitting next to Hunter was pretty cute, so Seren shot him a smile as well before continuing down the aisle.

"Hi Evan!" she gushed, sitting down next to him. It was SO COOL that Evan was her friend, because he was older. It made her look even cooler than she already was, which was hard to do. "What are you doing?"
she asked in a lower voice, so the other students couldn't hear.

Evan was watching the young students' drama with delight. Three Gryffindors were arguing, and he hoped someone would cross the line and do something stupid. Then Evan could tell Professor Skylar and these guys would decrease Gryffindor's House points greatly. Maybe he needed to "help" them somehow?

Then a girl entered the greenhouse. She was some kind of mini-Darcy, with the same beautiful features, blonde hair, and positive attitude. "Heya wonderful girl," Evan replied and realized, that it probably sounded like he was mocking her. "Well, drama, silly little kids, some more drama," he answered to her question and looked at the Slytherin girl, who also gave the same answer. "And some dramatic self-irony," he added.

Finally, someone who Evan knew and like appeared. Seren, his one and only Ravenclaw friend, came inside He actually didn't have more than one friend in any House. For a moment he thought about stripping her from this title when she greeted Hunter in a sweet voice. This boy probably destroyed Aoife with his company, and Evan didn't want the same to happen with Seren. He definitely needed to jinx this git some day.

"Hi Seren," Evan said with a bit of disappointment in his tone. Aoife was also nice at the start, and he also considered her awesome. "I'm pretending to be an ordinary student to listen to these drama queens of both genders for a bit. That's both funny and disgusting. An interesting experience, actually. I can also tell the Professor if any of these morons do something bad to decrease other House's points," he explained with a grin. "I suppose everyone would act completely different if they knew I'm an assistant."

PostSubject: Re: Herbology Lesson One - Years 1-3   Herbology Lesson One - Years 1-3 - Page 2 EmptyWed Feb 19, 2014 3:38 am

Hunter didn't even bother to stifle his laugh when Blake retaliated by telling Ryany-poo to sit down. Yeah, there was no doubt about it. Ryany-poo was a much worse nickname than Blakey. It took him a few moments to calm his laughter before answering Blake's next question. "Wouldn't put it past him," he said, glancing at Evan one more time. "He pushed me into the snare right in front of Professor Skylar. Git." For a moment, Hunter tried to figure out who he disliked more - Evan or Jen. Both of them were pretty bad, but quite honestly he couldn't think about it properly because most of his negative attention was zoning in on Ryan. Who was also a git.

"But the class is actually pretty cool," Hunter told Blake in a brighter voice. Hunter really liked herbology, since he was used to helping his dad with the farming back home. Magical plants were way more interesting than muggle ones. Hunter smiled at Ariel - maybe a little too widely, since he still wasn't exactly immune to her magic charm or whatever it was - when she joined them, and did his best not to roll his eyes at Vanessa's dramatic response to her question. Evan answered her as well, and as much as Hunter disliked Evan, his assessment of the situation was pretty spot on. Except Hunter had a feeling that when he said silly little kids, he wasn't just referring to the first years. But since he'd immediately followed by pointing out Vanessa's overly dramatic comment, Hunter didn't bother calling him out on it. Not like it was a good idea, anyway. Evan knew loads of spells that Hunter didn't, and could take him down in a heartbeat if he wanted to.

Hearing his name from the side, Hunter glanced over to see Seren passing him. Great, because we really need more tension in here. Hunter wasn't really sure how he felt about Seren. She was a particularly controversial person, and after the whole Christmas Ball fight Hunter had been rather angry with her. He knew for a fact that Aoife wouldn't be forgiving her any time soon. But it had been a while since he'd spoken to the Ravenclaw, so he simply smiled back at her and said, "Hi Seren!" as she passed. He raised an eyebrow as he saw her move on and take a seat next to Evan. He didn't know that those two were friends... Hunter glanced sideways at Aoife to gauge her reaction to the other girl, hoping that she wouldn't blow up at the sight of her or anything. With Aoife, you just never knew.

Ariel came in. Aoife beamed at her, because she was nice, even though she was much too pretty. But it was okay, since she actually deserved to be pretty. Evan answered her question and she glared at him. He'd put it quite nicely, actually.

Ugh, Seren. How she hadnt missed that brat at all over summer. When she said hello to Hunter in that patronising little way, and he ACTUALLY SAID HI BACK, it took a lot of self-control not to hit one of them. Aoife clenched her fists and took deep breaths. Luckily, Seren went away pretty quickly, but the desire to hit Hunter was still there. No, that wasn't nice.

Obviously she'd known that Seren and Evan were friends but it still made her feel sick looking at them. Seren, the brat who nobody sane could ever like and Evan, the heartless hit of a dinosaur who used to be her friend. They were probably a pretty good match. Evil, though, so dangerous.

Persephone hurried down to the green houses determined not to be late. When she finally got there she put her head down slightly and entered. Some of the kids she recognized from the sorting but most of them she didn't know.

Shaking her head slightly she spotted the one girl she actually felt comfortable talking to. She hurried over to where the girl was sitting and sat next to her. "Hey Vanessa," Persephone whispered as she grabbed her book out of her bag.

"Trying not to gag at the couple over there." Vanessa pointed over to Lauren and Ryan. "It's so not fair. I had Ryan first. Then that Lauren brat stole him from me. Remember what happened to the last girl who stole a guy I liked?" Vanessa smiled at the memory of Madison Andrews crying in the bathroom.

Lyra liked the look of Herbology. It was just plants! And there were loads of plants at home. Maybe it was a bit more than that. She'd heard the story of how Hunter almost died when he got chucked into a deadly plant numerous times. That was probably just his bad luck, though. That was probably a very rare occurrence. She'd be fine.

There seemed to be a lot going on when she entered the classroom. Hunter was there with his ridiculously large crowd of friends. A Ravenclaw girl and boy, both seemingly older than her, who she didn't recognise were near them. "Hi, I'm Lyra!" she smiled. Lyn needed to hurry up and get there. Then she too a seat near her brother, with an empty one next to her for Lyn. "Hi Hunter, Blake, Aoife, Ariel!"

Persephone looked over to where Vanessa pointed and saw the two people she was talking about. Lauren didn't actually look like that bad of a person, or even sound like it from what she had heard so far. But if her best friend had set herself against her, well she would just go right along with it.

So Persephone nodded her head quickly, thinking of the girl had done something rude to Vanessa so she had done something rude back, it was as simple as that. Her book was calling back her attention so she looked back down for a second and read a couple lines. "Have you read any of this yet?" She asked looking over to Vanessa for a couple seconds before returning to her book.

"Well there's always a chance I rubbed off on you, if only a little." Persephone said stubbornly, before she also began giggling. Nessa was right, she didn't read, but there was no harm in asking.

She grabbed a piece of parchment that was covered in notes out of her bag and placed it in front of her. Then she continued to skim through the book, writing anything down when it caught her eye.

She noticed Nessa winking at someone so she looked up and saw the guy, Ryan, that she had pointed out with Lauren earlier. wrinkling her nose in disgust Persephone put her head back in her book.

Once she'd actually found out what Herbology was, Madeline had been excited about the class. It was just plants! Plants weren't that difficult. Hopefully, it wouldn't involve much talking or group work either. Then it would be the perfect class for her. Any class where nobody picked on her or she didn't HAVE to talk was fairly amazing. Maybe the teachers would give up on her, like at muggle school.

The greenhouses were in the grounds so weren't as hard to find as some of the rooms in the castle. Maddie kept getting distracted by weird moving pictures and statues that looked like they were staring directly at her. Wizard stuff was just really weird and unnatural.

The teacher wasn't there yet, only students, so, like usual, she took a seat at the back and took out a book to read. That might mean people would just ignore her and think she was just unsociable and didn't want to talk to anyone, only read. She noticed, over the top of her book, a girl in her house. Or was it? There was two of them. Were they twins? Were they both in Hufflepuff?
