Zaiden was in his office, reading an article on broomsticks, when a knock on the door could be heard. He got up and opened it to see a young Gryffindor first-year standing with her friend in her arms. The girl in question had her hands over her mouth and had terrified tear-filled eyes. He quickly crouched down to look the girls in the eyes and asked "What happened?" The girl holding her horrified friend answered quickly "Please, Professor, Alicia got hit by a hex in the halls by a Slytherin, and now her tongue is longer and forked, and her moth looks like a snake's. She even has fangs!" The young professor nodded curtly and ushered them inside.

Once Alicia was sitting down, he crouched down in front of her again and murmured comfortingly "Alicia, could you show me please? I can make it better, but only if you let me take a look." The girl's eyes looked at him doubtfully, then her hands slid down slowly, to reveal a snake's scaly mouth. Every now and then, as Zaiden would observe it, a forked tongue would dart out. He sighed and nodded his head "Not to worry, girls, this can be fixed right up." He pulled his wand from his pocket and quickly muttered a few words under breath, and the scales began to recede. In a matter of minutes, Alicia's mouth was back to normal. "There you are, but you might want to visit the infirmary all the same. There might be side effects that are not clearly visible." The girl's head bobbed in agreement, her eyes filled with relief. As they left the room, the professor followed them, muttering under his breath "Now to sort out that Slytherin..."
