Reunited (Aoife)

Phin was finally happy. He now had a guardian who wouldn't give up on him. Somebody who didn't think he was a failure. Somebody who would have his back in rough situations. He felt like he could lay back a little bit, and not adult so much. And he wanted to tell one person all about what he had been doing over the summer. And he had written her many times. He hoped she had gotten his last letter about meeting to get ice cream. It was his one day off, and he would wait until the store closed to see her. Their last meeting hadn't ended well, and he wanted to say, "I told you so." Right now, if he were in school, he would be miserable. He would be worrying about grades, and he wouldn't have any friends. He would be worrying about where he would sleep during the summer, and school just wasn't the place for him.

He hoped she finally understood that. She was pissed when he told her he wasn't going back to Hogwarts. And he was glad he didn't. Today he had worn his best looking outfit that Miranda had picked out for him. That was the deal. He wouldn't call her mum. And he didn't want too anyways. She was two years older than him and that would just be awkward. He wanted to tell Aoife that everything was going as planned. That he could finally be a child again. He knew that he had to grow up faster than most kids his age, and that sucked. But now, with less rules, and being under the influence of Alek, he could slack off a lot more than he did.

He took out a piece of paper that had high lighted everything he wanted to say. He was scared shitless. He read it over a few times to make sure he wouldn't forget it. He wanted her approval most of all. He took out his parents letter of abandonment and placed it on the table. He was going to let her read it. It killed him that they did what they did, but he realized he was much happier without them, and happier with Miranda. He was getting stressed, so he got some ice cream. He was about to take a bite, when she walked in. And for some reason, all of his feelings came at him hard, almost like he got hit with the knight bus. And he felt like throwing up. He waved his hand to get her attention and awaited for judgmental yelling.
