| The past few days had been terrible. Agnes was tired, yet she slept around 10 hours every night, plus she took naps throughout the day. She was constantly thirsty, always carrying something to drink whether it be juice or plain water. Most importantly, she didn't want to come within a foot of Hunter VanDerberg or any other male for that matter. They were all idiots. Hunter was a different idiot, because she was glad he was finally making a move on Aoife, but he was just stupid sometimes. She could just feel the stupidity radiating from him from time to time, but he realm wasn't that bad. The biggest mistake of the human species, however, was Evan Williams. If she ever saw him again, he'd be injured for the rest of his life, that was for sure.
With all the liquids she was drinking, Agnes often had to run out of wherever she was and head to the lavatories, which was actually harder than it sounded as sometimes she missed a very important lesson. The water of the sink was freezing cold! It instantly number her fingers and she watched as her usually fair skin turned pink, and eventually a little red. Red. Wait. She raised an eyebrow at her own reflection in the mirror, and a worn out Agnes raised an eyebrow back at her. She was never late. She was the most regular woman out there. She was so punctual it was scary. However, she realized she hadn't seen anything since the mid August. Normally, her periods were all in the middle of the month. She clearly remembered ger last one, because she'd been at the hospital for her father's passing. She's even asked the nurse to show her the way to the restrooms!
August. September...October. She counted the months with her fingers; barely two missed periods. Was this cancer? Maybe some sort of disease she wasn't aware of? Maybe she was dying! No! Her eyes widening, Agnes thought about reasons for missed periods. "Nah." She shook her head, nothing to be worried about. She'd been told about this, the stress and shock that came with grieving her father's death was likely to mess with her psychological health, causing a mental blockage of things like her period or ability to retain small details. Simple things. Yes, nothing to be worried about, she told herself as she dried ger hands and found her way out of the lavatories. It was time to get back to class. | |
