You Little Shit (Ryland, Lucy, and Elita)

Phoenix sat in his chair. It was more like a throne technically. He was king of the castle. King of his house! It was lonely now a days that the kids where out doing their own thing. On days like these, Phoenix liked to sit by the fire, read a book, and maybe even have a shot of firewhiskey or two or four. It was then he heard a knock at the door.

At first, he wasn't sure if it was just the alcohol making his mind hear things, but once he heard the noise more than once, he realized it was reality. Sighing grumpily, he got up. He sat the glass down on the table next to his thrown like chair, and stud up. He paused at the door when he saw who it was at the window. Lucy, Ryland, and some other girl. Uh-Oh. This couldn't be good.

If it was just Lucy, fine. That was dandy. He loved spending time with is only daughter. But the fact that she was there with Ryland and the other girl, things had to be wrong. Phoenix had a thing for knowing when something was wrong. He could sense it a mile away. Whether it was the alcohol that was in him at that moment, or his senses where going nuts. He sighed and opened the door, and prepared for the worse.

Well, there they were. Ryland was standing between Lucy and Elita, and Lucy was not talking to either of them. They were stupid, amd Lucy would remind them for the rest of their lives. They arrived at Lucy's house, well, Phoenix's house but Lucy and Ryland's childhood home, and she immediatelly knocked in the door, eaiting for her father to open it. When she saw her father peek in to see who it was, Lucy grinned. She had missed him, even though she had seen him a few days ago. Phoenix opened the door and Lucy immediately crawled into her father's arms, taking in the bit of calm in him before he found out why Elita and Ryland had come this time.

Letting him go, she walked into the hallway, not bothering to see if Ryland and Elita followed or if they were trying to be difficult. The house smelled clean, but there was lingering smell of alcohol and Lucy glanced at her father. He'd been drinking again, thanks to Ryland's selfish actions. Lucy walked to the Family Room, because she had a hunch that that was where Phoenix had been before they arrived. Taking a seat on the sofa, Lucy waited for the rest of her family and Elita to come up. When they were all in there, Lucy glanced at Ryland daring him to start saying something.

Elita stalked behind Ryland reluctantly. She wanted so badly to reach out and squeeze his hand, well, actually she wanted him so badly to reach out and squeeze HER hand. At least he was here with her. She let out a small breath of relief, no matter what Lucy told her, she would always want Ryland in many ways. One day, they'd get married and her fantasies would be fulfilled, but until then, there were obstacles.

This was one.

It was time to tell Ryland's adopted father, Lucy's father, that he'd be having a grandbaby, well, "grandbaby" for all anyone knew. It wouldn't be biologically his, but e'd never know and probably never find out. Elita planned to move to France and send him to Beauxbaxton's even so he'd be French like Ryland and her. Who actually gave a fuck if anyone approved. He was HER kid. Her spawn. Lucas. Lucas Phoenix. She wondered what Phoenix would think of the middle name.

"Oh. Fuck." Ryland muttered as he walked behind Lucy. It seemed unfair that she was always picking up after his mess, always taking responsability for his actions, and even Wade's, and now she was here making things difficult but real with Phoenix and their news. He followed his older sister, trying to come up with the right words to tell Phoenix that he was going to be a grandfather. They reached the family room and Lucy immediately glared at him. A part of him thought maybe she would just tell him, and have Elita and him watch and be witnesses. However, that was not the case. Lucy was determined to make Ryland pay for his actions, even though it wasn't even Ryland's doing...

Ryland and Elita already had a name for the baby, Lucas Phoenix. Ryland was personally excited about that, but he had no clue how his father would react. Deciding it was best to just let everything out, surprise him or something similar, Ryland said suddenly, "Elita's pregnant. I'm the father. We're naming him after you." Well, that was pretty fast. Ryland decided to add a semi-awkward smile at the end, just so that his father knew he meant no harm with the news. "So, how was your summer?" he asked as he took a seat next to Lucy, glancing at his father like nothing had ever happened. Like Ryland had never run away to follow Wade, like he'd never become a Dark Wizard, like he'd never left Phoenix.

The news hit him like a ton of bricks. He didn't know whether to be thrilled about the news, or pissed off that his son got himself into this fuckery. Fuckery? Was that a word? If not, he could make it a word that described this situation right now. He decided to let his face remain calm, and let them explain. But how could they explain?! That was a baby in that girls stomach. Maybe this was a sick joke. Maybe he was being punked. Stupid kids these days...

But the look on Lucy's face said otherwise. The look on Lucy's face said that this news was genuine. That he was really going to be a grandfather, and that the child had his name. That part was sweet, and it softened Phoenix up a little bit, enough to not punch him in the gut, but the kid did deserve a good yelling. He took another swig of his firewhiskey and said, "Damn it Ryland. you little shit." He didn't think it was his responsibility to yell at the girl, so he didn't. He would leave that to her father.

He then turned to LUCY, "how long have you known?"

If she had known this whole time and not told him, he would be crushed, but at the same time, he knew it wasn't her news to tell. He took a breath and answered Rylands second question, "Not as good as your summer apparently." Was that appropriate? Well, the kid deserved some embarrassment, so it was worth it to him. He laughed a little bit to lighten the mood. He didn't like tense situations that made him uncomfortable. And this was the very thing. He asked, "So it's a boy? And your keeping it?" Well DUH she was keeping it. She wouldn't of named it after him if she wasn't.
