Ryland wasn't fully sure how he'd even get to teach. His first class was fine, they were young kids, eleven and thirteen years olds, but he wasn't looking forward to his afternoon class as it involved the older ones. Technically, Ryland was 20 years olds, and the oldest student was either 17 or 18 and he didn't see why someone would listen to him when he was really just two or three years older. Still, he managed to get out of bed and dress somewhat decently and make it on time to his class. He wore some jeans he'd probably worn the day before, and a shirt he found in his trunk. Ryland, though at some point had cared about the way he looked to others, was now in full apathy mode. The only people he cared for where the ones that mattered, the ones he'd actually bother to dress up for.

Walking in, he took his wand and waved it. Ryland wasn't in the mood to write by hand, so the words appeared magically on the board and he allowed himself a small smile. He didn't write much either, just what he thought the students should know. Once that was all done, he went out to the Great Hall to get himself some coffee. He really needed it.

Term 10 - Lesson 1 - Morning Class Empty
PostSubject: Re: Term 10 - Lesson 1 - Morning Class   Term 10 - Lesson 1 - Morning Class EmptyWed Oct 01, 2014 3:51 pm

Katherine was beyond excited for her first class. She was already imagining how the professor would look like and what awesome things they would learn. Her knowledge of magical creatures was almost non existent as her parents never insisted on the subject, unlike transfiguration or charms. Which was also one of the main reasons she couldn't wait for this class! The young Ravenclaw woke up early so she had enough time to prepare herself and have breakfast. With blue and bronze colors gracing her uniform and a large Care of Magical Creatures book in her hands, Katherine headed to her first class of the day.

It was easy to get lost in Hogwarts and Katherine's total lack of any sense of direction didn't help either. She was forced to ask some of the older students for help as she didn't have time to figure it out by herself. The worst thing she could do is be late! After following her instructions precisely as she had been told, she found herself in front of the classroom and exactly ten minutes early. Perfect. With small steps she entered the room and searched for a seat. The room completely empty so Katherine could have her pick. Third row she thought! Not too close but not too far away. She sat down, took out her notebook and prepared herself for class. If only the professor would show up soon. But he did leave something on the board. Katherine made herself comfortable and waited for the other students to come in as well.

Serafina walked into class. Her Gryffindor robes wrapped tightly around her. It was fall, meaning it wasn't drastically cold, bu cold enough and the castle didn't hold warmth. It was too early for her to be awake, but she was excited for her first day of class. Care of Magical Creatures. Maybe she'd learn more about animals. Magic animals.

She bounced to a seat near the board, excited to learn. She liked animals, except for the one that left that horrible scar on her leg. Maybe she'd show the professor after class and ask him. Her stomach growled, she'd forgotten to eat breakfast. Oh well, she'd hold off til lunch.

As she sat down, she read the board, the were going to learn the basics. What WERE the basics, she wondered. She waited patiently for other students to arrive and for class to begin.

Term 10 - Lesson 1 - Morning Class Empty
PostSubject: Re: Term 10 - Lesson 1 - Morning Class   Term 10 - Lesson 1 - Morning Class EmptyWed Oct 15, 2014 4:55 am

With a massive cup of coffee in hand, Ryland finally came back to the classroom. Okay, there were people there. He had to be professional and shit like that. Taking a sip of his drink, he walked to his desk and stared at the two girls. They were pretty small, and he wondered if that’s what all first years looked like. “Okay, so. I’m your professor. Ryland Malfoy. Don’t care what you call me, as long as you don’t call me anything ridiculous.” He told them, remembering Gryffindoggy. That stupid name Aoife or Kynan had given him. He was trying not to sound mean or intimidating, but his morning was already too hard.

Moving towards a student desk, Ryland choose to sit by them and teach in a sort of conversation-style. He pushed a desk up towards them and sat down, bringing his cup of coffee with a simple Accio spell. He’s gotten quite good with simple nonverbal spells, but they were still harder than they were for others, considering he was a Muggleborn.

“So, the basics are simple. What is a beast? What are the Ministry classifications? Why this class matters? Etc.” He told them, resting his hands on the desk. “Let’s start with something pretty easy. Do either of you know the Ministry classifications?” He could give them points for that. Easy points. Even if they got the answer wrong. Ryland was planning on helping Gryffindor win, since it was his former House. But he also couldn’t NOT give any points to the Ravenclaw.

Saryana walked towards class. It was going to be her first class in this subject! It was probably the only one who in which she didn't know too much ininformation. Not that she was complaining. She walked to the room, trying not to get lost. In other words, she asked paintings for directions. She still had a hard time navigating around the school. But than again, Hogwarts was a 7 floored school and was placed on a huge land. And she loved that! Anyways, at the end she was led by a crazy knight who believed she was on some kind of quest. Her reaction was a roll of her eyes.

When she walked in the class, two girls had arrived. So had th teacher. He seemed young. She read what was written. Basics? Shouldn't they learn about some creature, not the basics? What did he mean by them? Sighing, she sat down. He was already asking questions. Well, she heard the last one, anyways. She rose her hand and waited if the others would be called. That was how they did it in Muggle school and she didn't want to change it that easily.

PostSubject: Re: Term 10 - Lesson 1 - Morning Class   Term 10 - Lesson 1 - Morning Class EmptySun Oct 26, 2014 5:12 am

Matthew was torn. Completely torn. Because, in some ways, Care of Magical Creatures seemed like it would be a class mostly for girls. Girls liked animals, and the class would probably be all about animals. But Matthew also liked animals. Just not cute fluffy ones like bunnies or anything like that. Matthew liked dangerous animals, like bears and snakes and tarantulas. So, if the class involved a lot of those kind of animals, it would be alright. So in the end, Matthew decided to take it!

He got lost on his way to the classroom, and ended up walking in just as the professor began to ask his first question. It sucked that he was late, and the professor would probably take off points. But maybe Matthew could balance those points out by getting the question right! He didn't want to lose points because then everyone would find out and hate him. So, as he joined the group and took a desk, he answered without bothering to raise his hand. Because raising his hand would take time, and then somebody else might beat him to it.

"The classifications measure how awesome and cool each beast is!" Matthew exclaimed matter-of-factly, grinning at the professor. Actually, they were meant to indicate how dangerous an animal was, but in Matthew's mind, dangerous and awesome were pretty much synonyms. So it was appropriate to say it that way. Surely, this awesome cool professor of all beasts magical would understand completely.

Danny walked into his Care of Magical creatures class kind of scared if he were to be completely honest. He was interested in all the animals and creatures he could learn about, but he was afraid that they might hurt him or someone else in the class. But he doubted Professor Malfoy would let that happen.

He stood by a tree kind of far away but close enough to where he could still here the lesson. He smirked when a Slytherin boy answered the professors question. He chuckled to himself at the poor wording of the boys answer. Really... how awesome the creature is? He sounded like a little boy. He frowned to himself because his thoughts had been mean. That wasnt like Danny at all. He just shook his head and turned his attention back to the lesson

Care of Magical Creatures. Great! Animals! Magical, awesome ones! Bry was probably most excited for this class, out of all the others. But she ended up getting lost and stumbling up and down stairs which kept moving under her feet. All she wanted was to get to the bottom of all these stairs, then she knew where to go from there, but the stairs didn't seem to like her. It was frustrating watching older students casually navigate, seeming to understand when and where the stairs would move. Eventually, she managed to get out into the grounds. Late, but it was better late than never. Anyway, she had the excellent excuse of being a clumsy new first year.

As she'd expected, the class had already started when she arrived. So she just took a seat without saying anything, deciding it was less likely she'd lose points if she didn't disrupt whatever they were talking about. Like her DADA professor, this one looked quite young. That was fine. Everyone knew old people were boring.
