| On the first few days back home after the term at Hogwarts, Lyra always seemed to be up really early. It was probably just because she’d been in the routine of getting up early to start classes at school, so immediately getting back into lying in for ages was difficult. It was probably also because of the sense of excitement she got from being back to the farm. She wasn’t the type of girl to get homesick, but being back with her parents and Jack and all the animals was always nice. Lyn was still asleep, so she crept out of the room they shared and bounded down the stairs to the kitchen.
Chores had always been horrible, but the ones involving the animals were much better! She put the kettle on to make tea for whoever came downstairs and slipped some shoes on. Then she skipped out of the back door towards the chickens coop. Eagerly, she opened the door to let them out. “Aidan Turner!” she chirped happily when he waddled out. She’d missed her babies. She collected the eggs she could see in their little house. Scrambled eggs for breakfast, awesome. Or pancakes. It was a difficult decision to make. Oh, she’d just have both.
Once she was back into the warm confines of the house, she opened the fridge to grab some orange juice for herself and started her awesome multi-tasking, zooming around as she poured juice, gathered equipment to make breakfast, hummed the Pretty Little Liars theme tune and rearranged the array of magnets on the fridge. This summer was going to be so awesome, Lyra just knew it! Maybe they didn’t have Hunter’s friends from Hogwarts staying again or anything big going on, but they didn’t need that.
Bloody hell. They had so much crappy TV to catch up on, her and Lyn.

| It was about time that Jack wasn't the only one to do anything around the farm. Now that his siblings were home, the work could be dispersed evenly between the four of them, rather than he and his father trying to manage a whole farm by themselves. But Jack would probably still end up doing most of the work because Hunter were lazy from being in school and the twins didn't help with the harder work. But at least for a few days, he could lounge around and do absolutely nothing and get zero shit from his parents about it.
Unfortunately, the habit of waking up at the crack of dawn wasn't easy to break. So as usual, Jack chucked a pillow at his lazy ass brother at some ungodly hour of the morning and made his way into the kitchen for food. He wasn't surprised to see Lyra already bustling around - she'd been up early pretty much every day. "Nice to see that place hasn't made all of you lazy," Jack joked, instantly going to the fridge and pouring himself a glass of orange juice.
"So how is my favorite sibling this morning?" he questioned, plopping down at the kitchen table with every intention of not helping with breakfast in the slightest. He'd made breakfast almost every day in their absence, so the least they could do was cater to him for a few days. His tone was joking, but in reality Lyra was his favorite. And they hadn't really gotten to do anything awesome or talk about anything awesome since she'd returned. Jack would have to change that. "And what's for breakfast?" That was most important. "I don't smell bacon."

| Why was it that every morning, without fail, Hunter was violently awoken by a pillow to the head? He growled and rolled over as Jack's pillow slammed into his face. "You're a git," he mumbled at his brother, pulling his blanket up over his head. But as usual, once he was so rudely awakened, he wasn't able to fall back asleep. So it didn't take Hunter long to dress and make his way out into the kitchen.
On his way, he snatched his mobile from where it was charging on his desk and plugged a set of earphones into it. Electricity was definitely the biggest thing that Hunter missed about home while he was at Hogwarts. He popped one of the earbuds into his right ear and let the other hang, flipped through his music until he found a half decent song, and then tucked his phone into his pocket. Music was awesome. Hunter had missed having access to it all the time while at school.
Of course, Lyra was up and zipping around the kitchen. And of course, Jack was with her. Hunter rolled his eyes as he took a seat across from his brother, kicking his feet up onto the chair beside him. It was easy to see that Lyra was much happier in Jack's presence than she had been in Hunter's at school. That was because Jack paid a lot more attention to her than Hunter did. "Morning!" he said to nobody in particular, a cheerful tone to his voice. Hunter had decided to take Jack's advice and enjoy the summer, and so far it was doing him some good.
