Starstruck [Ryland]

Ariel was smiling evilly to herself as she thundered down the steps inside the castle, making quite a few students turn to look at her. She didn't care. She was having the best day EVER! She was finally going to realize one of her most awesome plans! It had better work... she thought sourly, but her sourness lasted for a mere second before she was grinning wickedly again.

She reached the Entrance Hall and sprinted out to the grounds on the sunny day. Perfect! A lot of people would be outside today! A lot of people to inflict! She ran over the covered bridge and some people that knew her and saw her face turned in the opposite direction of where she was going. Good. People was starting to learn!

Suddenly, she was at the Stone Circle. A perfect place for a few spells. She could bind them to the stonethingies so that anyone who walked through there would be enchanted with her newfound spell. She fished out her wand and pointed it at the stones, sending a spellbinding charm at every one of them, so that the spells would stay intact. It was a very easy spell, first year level. At least, she had taken the time to learn it in her first year. She wasn't a brilliant witch, but when she made her mind up, and it had something to do with pranks, she could work day and night for it.

So she pointed at the air between two of the stone-monument-thingy-thingies and said: "Moribus Mutatio." She smiled happily and did the same at the other columns as well, not letting anyone passing by escape it! It was easy to end though, luckily, but people probably wouldn't instantly see how. She sat down, leaning against one of the columns, on the safe side, and watched innocently as people walked along the path. And through the columns. The effect was imminent! What the spell did was make people do exactly what they wanted to do. So a guy was suddenly scratching his ass vigorously, a girl hit another girl at one point, and a couple was suddenly smooching.

When this happened, Ariel was grossed out and mumbled the countercurse and they split apart instantly. Thank the heavens for that. She didn't know how long she sat there, sniggering at people when the shape of a guy she recognized instantly from the Gryffindor table was walking towards it. "NO! DON'T WALK ANY FURTHER!" she shouted at him, hoping he'd understand that she was talking to him.

SORRY:

Ryland had only been to the Stone Circle once or twice, never really caring much for it. What was interesting about a bunch of boring stones standing up? Nothing. He still found himself headed towards the Circle in order to get back to the castle faster. He'd been up by the Whomping Willow and figured that he'd get faster by the Stones because he didn't want to get in trouble for being after curfew. He should probably start getting himself a mental clock that told him exactly when to go somewhere and when to leave. Ryland couldn't risk being outside the castle after curfew on nights that he didn't need to. That meant Gryffindor losing points.

He was about to walk, or run, through the stones when a blond girl on the other side of them told him not go any further. She yelled, actually. The way his sister did when she was worried or when she was about to fall of a chair. Ryland instantly stopped and looked at her like she was insane. "Yeah, and risk losing points? Now way." before thinking about it, he ran through the stones, which instantly closed themselves around him. He looked around confused, until he began scratching the back of his ear like a dog. WHAT THE-? Ryland wouldn't stop scratching, and he had no clue what was going on.

Ariel made big eyes as Ryland didn't listen to her and walked through. Why did her pranks always befall people she didn't want them to hit?! She also knew she should probably look away, but she was too curious to see what he'd do. And he scratched his ear. Ariel raised an eyebrow, but quickly shook it away as she fished out her wand. "Finite incantatem," she quickly said and stood still for a moment, looking at him. He was super cute! "S-sorry," she mumbled lowly.

Wait, what? Stuttering and mumbling? That was so not like her! She quickly cleared her throat and looked back up at him, ignoring her hair changing to a reddish color. Her own kind of a blush. But it didn't matter. "I'm Ariel," she said with a grin, feeling much more like herself now. Even though this guy was much older than her, and probably loads cooler. Or maybe he wasn't. Maybe Darcy only said stuff like that to make Ariel think there was someone cool at Hogwarts other than herself. But that would be stupid, since Darcy wasn't all that cool. Or she was, but she wasn't.

Ariel looked at Ryland, which she knew was his name, and wondered if he'd recognize her. Not that he'd seen her before, but if she reminded him of Darcy. Though there weren't many veelas around, so… And Ariel had always heard that they were pretty similar. Not so much now as before, though.
