Family background and description:

The surname VanDerberg literally translates to "from the mountain" in Dutch; however, since the Netherlands are primarily flat, the mountain in question is actually a large hilly region near the town of Asch. Gretta and John VanDerberg married by arrangement at a young age, and gladly took over the operation of the VanDerberg farm after their union. Despite their arranged marriage, John and Gretta had a happy life together. They tended their farm and became the parents of four healthy children. Jack was the eldest; a year younger was Hunter; lastly, two years later, the young couple gave birth to twin girls, Lynette and Lyra. Gretta's mother, a widow, also lives with the family.

Personal history (what happened to your character until his current age, at least a paragraph about this, also this section requires to be constantly updated):

Lyra was raised on a farm, which was pretty cool in her opinion. Especially with a bunch of siblings to share chores and hard work with. Including her twin sister, Lyn, who was basically her best friend, although they both did have a lot of friends from the village. They did like to spend time with each other and their family more. Hunter and Jack tended to spend more time with each other than them but Lyra idolised Jack, but  was pretty good at hiding it. At least, that’s what she thought.

While she did love animals and was always out on the farm, her sister was much more obsessed and Lyra often found it difficult not to snap at Lyn. Well, a lot of the time she did snap. As they grew older, the twins drifted apart more, since they had very different interests and beliefs. Lynette was very patient but Lyra was the opposite, liking to be the centre of attention, and spent more and more time with other friends.

She was unbelievably excited when her Hogwarts letter came because she could go to the place Hunter talked so much about and experience it for herself.

Lyra has long, wavy brown hair which reaches just past her shoulders and hazel eyes. She looks very similar to her twin sister, but not exactly the same. Because of her working on the farm, she is very strong and fit.

Lyra is a very honest person, but this often means being blunt, stubborn and very straight-forward.  She is quite self-centred and likes to be the centre of attention, so is often the drama queen VanDerberg. Bravery is one of her best traits and she will do anything for her family and those she cares a lot about. It seems like she trips over everything and she is very clumsy. She likes animals and playing games and hates maths and beaches.

Lyra beamed. She was going to Hogwarts! Well, in a few weeks. Six weeks. A month and a bit. It wasn’t so bad. At least it was summer, nice and hot and she could start packing for Hogwarts! In a few weeks time, they were going to Diagon Alley so that would be great! She remembered when they’d gone when Hunter had needed to buy school supplies and her and Lyn had been stuck in Magical Menagerie, unable to take their eyes off all the wonderful magical creatures.

After she’d finished her chores, she ran up the stairs to her bedroom. The little girl was so excited, she’d decided to start packing to make her feel better. There wasn’t too much to pack, since they had yet to buy stuff, but she could pack some stuff at least. Usually, she wasn’t organised, but this time was different. Special.
