What the Acutal Fuck (Alek+Miranda)

It had been a miraculous day. They had closed the wand shop early, because nobody had came in for almost 4 whole hours, and Alek thought it would be pointless to stand there after everything was clean, and inventory was done. So, they decided to go to Hogsmeade. It was weird for Phin. Right now, he would be in class in the castle probably bored to death listening to a professor go on and on about something that he didn't care about. This was a whole nother thing. He liked the situation he was in, and he didn't want it to change. But he knew it was going to at some point. Alek and Miranda had been pushing him about going back to school next term. He didn't want too, but he knew it was the right thing. No matter how much he hated it, he knew it would be better for him in the long run.

Walking to The Three Broom Sticks, Phin realized how much he missed the castle. Its "home away from home", the food, and mostly Aoife. He missed her red hair, her smell, the famous eye roll she always gave him. He spotted the whomping willow. The last place he saw her they had fought and it made Phin sad thinking about it. He wished they had ended on better terms, but unfortunately, it had gone south. He wondered stupidly to himself if that was the reason why he didn't go back to school. If so, he made a mess of his life for no reason. A girl he didn't have a chance with wasn't worth his education. He was starting to see Miranda's point and mentally facepalmed himself. He wouldn't admit it to her that she was right of course, she would take to much pride in that.

They made it into the restaurant. Phin missed the food. It was so good, he was glad they mutually decided to go here. Phin watched Miranda's facial expressions when she saw the castle again for the first time since she graduated. She didn't talk very much about her life before she had came to Alek looking for work. Phin didn't like what he saw. It was mostly pain. He wanted to see his guardian happy. She made Phin happy, so it was only reasonable that he return the favor to her. She had done so much for him anyways. They finally got a table, and ordered their food. Everything was going great. It was a perfect day. The sky was clear, the weather was right in between freezing and warm, the birds where chirping, and everyone was in a great mood.

Alek and Miranda hadn't fought the entire day, which was rare now a days since Miranda exposed their secret adoption. It was then the door opened. Normally Phin wouldn't have looked up. But he recognized a voice. A voice he thought he would never have to hear again. A voice that sounded like nails on a chalk board. When he looked up to see if it was really there, his face went pale. Miranda quickly noticed and turned around. Phin couldn't see her reaction because he was paying attention to what they were carrying. Phin's eyes started to fill up with water, but he made himself not cry. They didn't deserve tears.

The part about the whole situation that made him so mad, was that the person who had resented and abandoned him his entire life, was engaging in the thing. He was showing emotion, and actually in a good mood. Miranda put a hand on Phin and he faintly heard Miranda tell Alek what was going on. Because what was going on was one thing Phin never in his wildest dreams thought would happen. What he was witnessing was as amazing and miraculous as Noah walking on water. He watched his father bend down and pick up the little baby boy. He watched his mother caress the little boys head. All Phin ever wanted was what he was watching right now. He wanted his mothers love, and his father's attention. And that's when he couldn't help himself. Phin broke down. He felt Miranda's warm embrace around him. But nothing would help what he was feeling at that very moment.

Her boys. Miranda loved them. Phin more so than Alek, but she couldn't help but feel something for Alek as well. He had in a way, saved her from a fate that was so unthinkable. She didn't know where she would be at that moment if she didn't have them. And that's why today was so perfect. They decided that all three of them, well, Phin and herself mainly, missed the Three Broom Sticks, and forced Alek to come along. Miranda also secretly hoped that this would convince Phin to go back to school the next term. She hoped that seeing the castle again, would make him realize that he didn't have to grow up so fast anymore. He could be a kid again. Miranda guessed that that was what they all had in common. Each of them had something in their past that made them think a little wiser than the normal human being would at their age.

She felt so complete at that moment, that she felt nothing bad could happen and ruin the moment. But boy was she wrong. So so wrong. It was a beautiful day. Today she decided to wear her favorite kitten sweat shirt, a pair of leggings and boots. Her hair was starting to grow longer, so she could braid it now. She wore minimal make up as she had felt lazy that morning and didn't feel like putting it on And Alek was a bathroom hog. But the fact that everything in her life made perfect sense now, made everything better. There was just one thing. Alek. She wasn't sure whether she just wanted to say "fuck it" and run up and kiss him, or kick him so hard in the balls that he wouldn't be able to reproduce. He messed with her feelings so much, sometimes she wondered if their situation was even worth it, but then she remembered that it was because Phin was the one who held them together. He was the one who broke up fights, he was the one who consoled her when she cried over something stupid that Alek had said, or done Vanessa, he was the one that made her think that everything was going to be ok.

In a word, Phin was her savior. It might seem weird, considering the three year age difference, but it was the truth. This boy made her situation seem like life was all rainbows and butterflies because that boy had gone threw hell. He had made her see that no matter what kind of crap situation you were in, you could always overcome it and be a better person because of it. She was amazed that such a young boy could teach her all those things. She knew her life had changed the second she brought up the idea of adoption to Phin. She knew it was weird on so many levels, but his parents where shit. And they were already living together, so there really be no difference in the situation but a piece of paper. However, she was surprised that Alek didn't see it that way. The way he reacted at dinner was heartbreaking and disappointing. However, she hadn't told him in the best way either. She repaid him though she thought, by quitting at the wand shop and getting a better job at the Ministry in hopes of making a better life for them all. She just yet had to tell them, and she hoped they saw it the way she did.

As they sat down at the Three Broomsticks, Miranda was hoping to tell them her big news right then and there. But all of the sudden, she saw Phin's face go deadly white. She was concerned and turned around to see what he was starring at. Her face went stern when she saw his parents. She didn't have the best relationship with them as she basically stole their son, and they basically gave them up. But then she saw what they were carrying. A baby. She instantly got angry. Here was their son sitting right there. She almost wanted to go over and yell at them for having a baby in front of their ABANDONED son. She put a hand on Phin, and when he started crying, she embraced him. She mouthed to Alek, "His parents." She wondered what he would do. Would he go over and yell? Would he flip shit? Probably all of the above. She wanted to do the same thing, but at that moment, her job was to console him. This was probably the hardest moment of his life, and here she was playing "mum". But then she realized that she wasn't playing. She was really was his mum.

If he had been the one to choose their adventure for the day, Alek wouldn't have arrived at the Three Broomsticks. But then again, he also wouldn't have brought Miranda or Phineas along to an adventure. Still, because didn't exactly feel like spending another hour with Vanessa, he agreed to go to the Inn with them. Alek knew Miranda wanted Phin back in school, and Alek wanted to support her as much as possible, but he wasn't going to torture the kid by taking him so close to the castle. It was, however, typical Miranda stuff. He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, very quickly, because she seemed to be having a terrific time by just walking through the streets of Hogsmeade. It was something that Alek liked about her, among other things he had now learned to shut up about; her ability to take pleasure in the smallest things. He still remembered how happy she had been that day they painted the bathroom. That stupid bathroom that just had to get repainted to match that dumb shower curtain. At the end of the day, however, Alek had fallen in love with her laugh. If only mildly.

She was also wearing her ugly sweatshirt with the kitten thing on it, so Alek's gaze didn't linger. Besides, since the failed dinner with Vanessa, Miranda had been moody as fuck and Alek had stayed away for a few days. However, spending those days with Vanessa made him realize that he would rather be yelled at by Miranda than to have to cuddle with the Italian girl 24/7. Alek instantly grimaced when he remembered that night, though, because everything had gone terribly wrong. All he had wanted was to give a girl a proper introduction. He wanted Vanessa to not be just another one of his hook ups, to not look at her as just a body but to see a real person when he laid his eyes on her. And then Miranda had to make it about her. She chose the wrong time and date to tell everyone she was now Phin's legal guardian. Or, rather, his mother. It never bothered Alek that Miranda had her selfish ways, and he didn't help her case by constantly building her ego with stupid words either, but for once in his life he wanted to give the spotlight to someone else.

As much as he hated to admit it, Vanessa was his way to forgetting that he really couldn't do anything about Miranda. She had never liked him, that much was clear from the very moment they met at school. Miranda had been the very first girl to reject him, and it had become a bit of a personal conquest to get her to like him, but some time in between their life and working together, Alek had actually learned to care for her. He didn't love her, no. He couldn't possibly. He just...cared. And he was tired of trying to win her over, so Vanessa was good enough for now. Opening the door for Miranda and Phin to walk in, Alek followed them to a squared table at the front of the Three Broomsticks. Frowning a little, he sat down next across from Phineas, and next to Miranda. He was really trying to remember if they had vodka or if he would have to order something else. He quickly glanced at the menu and found out that they really only had butterbeer and firewhiskey; a groan escaped him as he dramatically lowered his head to the table. "Whyyy did you chose this place? It's not good." He voiced his thought as he lifted his head to face Phineas and Miranda, speaking to neither in particular.

Phin's face was pale as snow, however, and Alek was more confused than he had ever been when it came to the former Hufflepuff boy. Turning to face Miranda, he searched for a hint as to what was happening, but her poker face only made Alek raise and eyebrow. Had he missed an offensive joke? His eyes followed theirs and landed on an older couple with a baby a few tables ahead. It didn't take him long to figure it out; Phineas was suddenly very easy to read. Miranda confirmed Alek's thoughts when she mouthed to him that they were Phineas' parents, and Alek noticed Phin had started to cry. His own face suddenly fell, because hadn't expect it. He had never thought about what would happen if Phineas ever reunited with his parents, because Alek thought that was unlikely. Apparently, Alek had been wrong. Turning to Phineas again, Alek felt a sudden anger. Not at him, but at the couple that had caused him to feel so vulnerable that he was crying in public. "What do we do?" He whispered to Miranda, who was probably as clueless as he was.

Phin suddenly realized how ridiculous and vulnerable he was right now. He had to man up to the situation. He looked up when Miranda dropped her arms that were tightly around him, and dried his eyes. And suddenly, he didn't care. It was there loss that they abandoned him. He was fantastic. Sometimes he did have his doubts, but Miranda reminded him every day, and Alek did when he was around. He was doing so much better without his parents, and suddenly he feared for the little baby that was in their arms. He didn't want that baby to go through the same hurt and pain that he had. He had to know if it was even there baby, or if it was somebody else's they where baby sitting, but by the looks of it, it was there's, and that made the situation ten times worse. Here Phin was hurting deep inside through the physical and emotional abuse his father and mother had put him through, and then they go and start over on a child. Phin said, "It's okay." It obviously wasn't, and he knew they could see through his lie.

He wasn't okay. His tears confirmed it and he was ashamed to let them see them. He had only let one person see them and she wasn't apart of his life anymore. As he watched his parents look around, he saw his mother finally see his pale face. He wasn't sure what to do at that moment, because they had seen him. She poked his father and pointed in Phin's direction. He saw his father look at Miranda and then at Alek and smirk. And that's when Phin wasn't just angry, but furious. They decided to walk over and say something. Phin looked straight ahead. His mother said, "Well, Phineas, are you going to introduce us to your other friend." Phin had forgotten that Miranda had a screaming match with them a while back when she had asked his mother to be adopted by Miranda. Phin said, "I don't owe you anything." He saw the hurt but understanding look in his mother's eyes. His father started, "Listen boy...." Phin interrupted him, "I have a name." The one thing he learned from Alek was probably to stand up for himself. Even though it would probably get himself another black eye, he knew Miranda and Alek wouldn't let it happen.

He looked at his father's hands and saw them move to fists. There was one other thing Phin learned from Alek. It was too fight back not only with words, but actions too. Miranda would frown upon it, but he was sure she would make an exception in this case. But Phin knew he was a much bigger person now to do anything about it. Phin looked at the baby, he asked, "Who's that." He saw his mother's face and she looked down awkwardly. His father said, "My son." The words hit him like a ton of bricks. Phin didn't know where he went wrong. He tried to please his parents one hundred percent, but nothing he did seemed to matter. He felt worthless, and alone. Being with Alek had helped a little bit, and now Miranda adopting him helped a lot more but not one hundred percent. He wanted to feel accepted by family. And at that moment, Phin realized he wouldn't have his real family anymore. He had something much better. And that's all that he could ever ask for.

It took all of Miranda's self control to not go off on Phin's parents. She was grasping Phin's hand for comfort, and trying so hard to not slap the shit out of his parents, but since this was a public place, she knew that it wouldn't be appropriate to slap the shit out of anyone. No matter how big of shits they were. She just stared at Alek when he asked what they should do. She had no idea. Being there for Phin was their main concern right now. Later they could deal with his parents. She said, "Be here for him." Her mothering instincts kicked in as they came up to him and started talking to him. She knew it would be hard for Alek to control himself, because she was the exact same way. She took deep breaths as his mother asked who Alek was. She didn't deserve to know who Alek was. She didn't deserve to know that her son was doing perfectly fine without her. She didn't deserve anything.

Miranda breathed again. She didn't want to make the situation worse for Phin than it already was because now she was just biting her tongue forcing the words to stay in her mouth. It took 100% of her will power to do that, and she hoped that Alek said something soon, or else she would truly burst with language so unfathomable, the babies ears would start to bleed. And if they did bleed, would Phin's parents care? She didn't think so. At that moment, Miranda was so proud of Phin. He was doing something he didn't think he would ever do, and that was stick up for himself. She eyed Alek again. Just begging him with her eyes to say something to make this situation less terrible for Phin so he didn't' have to say anymore words, and so she wouldn't say something worse than what Alek would say.

Miranda still couldn't understand why his parents treated Phin the way they did. Apparently, according to Phin, it was because he was a pureblood, and in Hufflepuff. But that made zero sense. If Miranda had a child, and was pureblood, and the child had made it into Hufflepuff, Miranda would love him/her no matter what. Just like she loved Phin. And her heart ached for him 100%. It was all up to Alek now on whether or not he wanted to say anything. Miranda caused enough shit between the three of them she wanted somebody else to have a chance. And she knew Alek would want this moment.

Alek didn't believe Phineas when he said he was okay. Nobody would be okay if they were in that situation. Not even Alek, who had willingly spent five years without his parents and sister now. Alek was feeling incredibly uncomfortable. He hadn't expected Phineas to ever see his parents again, but of course he would because the Buttons were pure blooded, and they were everywhere magic was involved. Alek just hadn't expected it to be on such a normal day. Following Phineas' eyes, Alek settled his gaze on an older woman. "Fuck." He whispered, because Phineas had a very, very attractive mother.

It had never been a secret that Alek had a thing for older women. He was entirely sure Miranda knew that, too, so he tried his best to not let the woman's...charms get to him. With her dirty blonde hair and striking blue eyes, it was hard not to. He gave an awkward cough when the woman walked straight to them and asked to be introduced. Alek almost extended his hand simply for the sake of touching her, but as he began to do so, Miranda's gaze burned into the side if his face. After a moment's hesitation, Alek continued, standing up and extending his hand for both of Phineas' parents. "Aleksander Krupp."

What else was there to say? "He does have a name, sir. Would you like me to remind you?" Alek replied with mock respect, flashing the older man a smile. Although he couldn't direct his insults to Phineas' mother because of his inappropriate thoughts, Alek could easily direct them to the father. Of course Phineas was curious about the baby, but he wasn't stupid. Alek was one hundred percent sure Phineas knew the child was his. At this point, the boy was simply being a masochist. Rolling his eyes, Alek thought about his words carefully. It was obvious Miranda was either too in shock or too fucking angry to say or do anything, so it was really all up to Alek at the moment. Hopefully, she would come to her senses soon enough.

"Please, would you like to take a seat?" Alek moved behind Phin's mother and pushed a chair for her, and left his father to get one for himself before taking his own again. "You know," Alek began, his voice unusually calm, "I have been wanting to meet you for a while. There's actually so much I want to tell you!" He could feel Miranda's gaze again, but fuck it. It was Phin that was hurting at the moment and Alek had to end it. "Where should I start?" he asked himself, scratching the back of his head. "Oh, yes. Let me start by thanking you." He smiled at them again, a mocking smile.

"You know, if you hadn't been stupid enough to procreate and then been even worse pieces of shit excuses for humanity, I don't think I would have met Phineas." Alek wasn't as strong as Phineas' father, that was easily inferred as the man was huge in stature and muscle whereas Alek was just a tall 21-year-old. "I'm sorry to lecture you, but did you know I met Phineas while he was running awayaboveyou? It was at the train station. Fuck, what's it called?" He turned to Miranda, but he didn't need the answer. Alek was putting on a show. "King's cross!" He said, turning back to the older couple. "You guys must have been pretty fucked up to make your child run away from you."

Glancing at the baby, Alek continued. "I do see I'll have to stay in Britain longer than intended. Since, you've got another child now." At their looks of confusion, Alek turned to Miranda. Placing his hand aboice hers, and hoping with every part of his nerves that she wouldn't kick him in the ball right there, he looked at her with almost lovesick eyes. "Hey, Miranda? I think it's finally time for you to marry me. We'll eventually have to take in the baby." He knew his drama level was way up, but something was making keep going. And no, he hadn't meant the marriage thing but at this point all he wanted was to weird the old people out so much they chose to leave.

Miranda kept looking at Phin as Alek did his little speech. Phin had put his head on the table either out of embarrassment, or the fact that Alek was so right, she didn't know. She was trying to hold back a laugh as he started. She could cut the hatred and sarcasm in his voice with a knife and it was pure genius. Whether Phin liked it or not, his parents needed to hear what Alek was saying. When he started talking about marrying Miranda, she got beat red. It was no secret to Phin, she knew that she had some what of an infatuation for Alek. And it sucked because she knew Alek had different beliefs than her about love, and what she wanted with him, and what he wanted with her, where two totally different things. She wished he would grow up and get his act together, and she can finally have what she had always wanted, but she knew it would either NEVER happen, or they would both be 50 years old when it did.

Miranda interjected. She looked his mother dead in the eye and said, "You know everything he says is 100% true. Minus the marrying part. BUT, you better treat that baby with half of the same respect or more. If I find out that you've done any less, there will be hell to pay." She was expecting Phin's parents to leave. But they didn't. His mother looked Phin dead in the eyes and said, "I wanted a second chance. I knew I failed with you, and my heart hurts thinking about it. I'm hoping with little Logan, that I can be a better mother." Phin said, "I just don't know what I did wrong." Miranda's eyes welded up with tears. She knew exactly how he felt. She had gone her entire life trying to prove herself to her parents, she didn't exactly have the same result as Phin, but they weren't as appreciative of her as they should've been. And when they died, that part of her died too. She just stopped caring, as she knew Phin had. That was why they clicked. Both of their family lives sucked so much that they created one of their own.

Surprisingly, they didn't leave. Miranda looked at Alek, and knew that this situation could get deadly very fast. She gripped his hand to try and stop him from moving or complicating anything that could get them kicked out of the three broomsticks. Even though she knew that it would take more than just a hand grip to get him to stop being violent. She secretly thought about just planting one on him right then and there, but that would complicate things FURTHER and she didn't want that. But if that ended up being the only way to stop him from beating Phin's parents to a pulp, then she would do whatever means necessary to do it. Would now be a good time to tell them about her new job? She tried it, "I got a job at the Ministry. Thought I'd let you know." She gripped Alek's hand tighter. That was probably the closest she would ever get to him, and she knew that for a while he would be angry with her, and she wouldn't have the privilege to do it for a really long time. Probably never if he kicked her and Phin out.
