Character Limit

I have a suggestion.

I have seen on other sites that there is a character limit, but it isn't as strict as ours. Ours is pretty strict, I just realized, so I think we should borrow this from all those other sites who seem to be doing really well with it.

I say we keep the male-female ratio requirement the same, but we should have unlimited characters for a limited time. Example, if I have 13 characters but I don't use 5 of them for more than - sayyyy - three months, then the admins have the full right to delete or deactive according to their judgment.

What do you guys think?

I don't know if I agree with that. Our character limit isn't that strict, and honestly the people who do have the maximum characters at our current limit are absolutely not active with all of them. I would say that if somebody proved that they could handle that amount of characters, we could consider allowing it on a person to person basis, but as a general rule I definitely don't agree with unlimited characters.

I have to say I agree with Jett. I like the idea, but, having 8 characters myself, I think 10 should definitely be the limit we've set, and if someone does prove they can handle 10, they can always PM the admins. But there's a new rule that soon will be added that we admins are throwing a bit back and forth to make it be as good as it can be, and until that rule is up and running, I think character limit should be held off.

Why not though? We need to get the site active again. I think if we do this for a little bit, it would help get our activity back up. And I'm not saying this for my bennifit. Just my oppinion.

I see what you're saying, but honestly, allowing people who already don't post with the eight to ten characters that they have to create even more characters that they'll almost definitely also not post with isn't going to help. And that's referring to myself included.

Perhaps we can have unlimited characters BUT with administration approved? If they think you can handle one more, you may make another one. If they consider that you are isolating one character and not taking things seriously, they can send a warning to either get more active on all or take down a character.

If you are allowed more, I definitely agree with Sary, but unlimited characters aren't really necessary when right now the people close to ten are the least active.

I already said that we could consider allowing it on an individual basis. But Evelyn's right. There's no point right now, because nobody is active enough for us to even consider allowing extra characters at the moment. So for now, I'm going to say this will likely not happen, but the admins will discuss it. Maybe in the future, if activity bounces back.
