Family: Violet Beckett grew up a sad little girl. Her father left when she was just three years old, and she lived with her single mother. Violet lived in an environment where she was taught that men were "pigs" and "not trustworthy". She was an independent spirit up until she met her future husband, Liam Hensworth at just the age of 12. Violet grew an obsession with Liam as a child, and she never grew out of the obsession no matter how hard she tried. Gradually, Liam became aware of the obsession, and took advantage of this. He ended up asking Violet out at just 14 years old, and he was 15.
He got her under his manipulative spell, and saw that he could do pretty much anything with her and she would obey. At 16 years old, Violet became pregnant with Liam's child. When she told Liam, he pretty much laughed in her face, and wanted nothing to do with the child. This crushed Violet's soul, and she swore off men from that day forth. Violet had to live under her mother's roof the first two years of Gus's birth. She received "I told you so's" and got scorns from her mother.
Liam has never been in the picture, and never will be. He mysteriously disappeared that following fall after she announced that she was pregnant with his child. Violet liked to believe that he was ashamed of what he did, but it was not the case.
Bloodline History: Please only fill this out of your character comes from a pure blood family. You may go back as far as you want, but make sure it is realistic. Describe the family's beginning and history regarding blood purity, and include any related families.
History:Gus is the only child to single mother, Violet Beckett. After the events of Liam leaving, Violet moved out of her mother's house when Gus was just two years old. Violet noticed something special about her child when he was young. She noticed that when he was little, the lights flickered on and off when he cried, she assumed it was just a coincidence, but things got stranger. In their little town apartment sometimes when he would get really upset, something glass would shatter, and that was no coincidence.
Violet grew to be scared of her little boy because he could do things that were beyond her control. She would often leave him with a neighbor when she had to work therefore having a distant relationship with her child as he grew older. Violet was a stranger to Gus. Violet often thought that Gus resembled his father way too much, and therefore she couldn't stand to look at him for even a couple of seconds.
As he grew into a young boy, he was still in the care of his neighbor, Laura. He liked stars, and nature, and being outside. His favorite place was the park that was just outside the apartment complex. He loved taking a closer look at plants under a microscope, and looking up pastes that could heal people. Gus liked to look at the way Nature did things. And as a child, his wizarding abilities began to show, and that made Violet even more afraid of him.
When his neighbor who usually watched him moved, Gus was more alone than ever. He felt like there wasn't anything he could do to earn his mother's love. Gus knew little about his father, and wanted to try and become anything but. So, he has a companionate heart, and is very loyal to his friends.
When Violet learned the truth about her son, she took the first opportunity to send him away. He went to Hogwarts. There, he was sorted into Hufflepuff. In Hufflepuff, he thrived. He was a rather popular boy, and became a prefect, and later, head boy, and captain of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. Gus wasn't much into dating, or finding love. He believed that with love there was no happy ending, because he grew up where there wasn't any.
He focused on his studies, and grew to really love Herbology, and healing. He decided to go into Healing, but take a different approach to it. He owns his own private practice where he uses nature to help heal people. His focus is helping the soul become better for the person, and not doping it up with medicine. To this day, Gus hasn't spoken to his mother. He is waiting for the day that she comes to him, but he doesn't know if that day will ever come.
Appearance:Gus likes to dress professionally. He didn't really grow accustomed to wizarding robes, so he likes to wear suits, and ties. His hair is a dark brown, and he wears glasses with square frames, that hide behind his green eyes. He is a rather fit male, as he doesn't eat junk food, and works out quiet often.
Personality: Gus is rather smart. Since he stayed away from distractions at school for the most part, he focused more on his studies, and Quidditch. People looked up too him, and were quick to judge, but soon realized that their first instinct of Augustus Beckett was wrong. He really was a kind hearted, fellow. He loved talking about Healing and plants. He put those above everything else.
He's really wise. Gus can come up with simple solutions that fix any problem one might have. People often would go to him for advice. He seemed to know what to say at the right time, and was often a shoulder to cry on. He was told he gave the best hugs when needed.
If that wasn't all that described Gus, he did have his faults. He was quiet oblivious to the idea of love. If someone liked him, he would just blow it off. He never knew what to do with a woman who would throw herself at him. If a woman was drunk, he would simply help her home, get her to bed and leave.
He is also completely gullible. He likes to believe everything that anybody tells him will come true. He likes to hope for happy endings but knows that sometimes that it isn't always the case due to his childhood of growing up basically without a mum, and a dad.
Above all things, he has quiet the compassionate heart. He wants to help heal people in the best way possible. He wants to help humanity become good, and healthy unlike the childhood he grew up with. He wants to make the world a better place, and be a part of something wonderful.

Gus sighed at the letter. He had gotten about two a day for the past week and a half. His mother was finally reaching out to him. Why? He had no idea. But her letters all said the same thing. She missed him, she was sorry for everything she had done, she wanted to make it up too him. But could she make up an entire childhood of disappointments? He wasn't sure. Sure, she could try, and Gus was the type of person who would give her that chance. He just hadn't had it in him to write her back.
Gus hoped with everything in him that it would work out. That he could have the mother that he never had. But he couldn't help but think that she had disappointed him in the past, and she could do it again. She was the reason why he didn't believe in love. She was the reason why he didn't have a happily ever after, yet anyways. He knew disappointment. And he was tired of being disappointed over and over again.
So the fact that she was now all of a sudden waltzing in his life was curious. Why? Was all he wanted to know. Why not when he was five years old, and had a fever and begging for her to show him at least a little bit of attention? Why when he was 17 and graduating Hogwarts and
he looked out to the stands to find her not there? And why now, at 25 when she didn't even come to the opening of his office when he had graciously given her an invitation?
That was the last straw. The last time that Gus would do anything for her, or try and prove his worth. She wasn't worth his time. But why. "Why" was echoing in his mind. So now, Gus found himself sitting at his desk dipping his quill in his ink, and writing it on the parchment a time and place for his mother to meet him. And if she didn't show, Gus would know that Happily ever afters didn't exist.
