| Anthony wasn't sure what he hated more - being at home or being at school. At school, he had to be surrounded by a ton of people that he couldn't stand. But then again, at school, everyone was much easier to avoid. At home, Anthony couldn't easily get away from his mother and sister, who were constantly trying to get him to talk and participate in family things and shit. So apparently school was less terrible. Did it really matter, though, when Anthony legitimately couldn't stand either? Not really. In both cases, he kept to himself to the best of his ability and ignored everyone around him.
Since Anthony didn't talk to anybody and didn't have any friends, he lived a pretty boring lifestyle. He spent some of his time flying - alone, because he wasn't the type to join a team full of losers. And the rest of his time, he spent studying and practicing spells and working on potions. If he was determined to be a loner, he might as well at least spend his time learning some useful things. Although, his time spent on his education was derived more from his boredom than his desire to do well.
Now, with term just having begun, Anthony was planning on heading down to the potions classroom to whip up some sort of potion that he'd read about over the summer. Brewing potions was a great way to take up a lot of time - working on spells was fine, but it was all over pretty quickly. And Anthony had pretty much mastered all of the spells he knew anyway. At least if he chose a good potion, he could get something out of it once his efforts were over. Since it was his first time making a potion since school started, Anthony made his way down to the dungeons with a box of glass vials in his arms. He'd bought some new ones over the summer, and had to deposit them in the potions classroom so that he could use them throughout the year.
But as Anthony weaved his way through the many hallways and corridors of Hogwarts, he ran into someone unexpectedly. Literally. As he went to step around a corner, a girl came around it from the opposite direction and crashed into him. Caught off guard, Anthony stumbled. He managed to keep his balance and keep himself from falling, but the box in his hand slipped and crashed to the ground, the vials shattering into thousands of tiny shards.

| Deirdre was actually glad to be back at Hogwarts. While she loved her home at Godrick's, it was hard to get some time to herself while she was there, as her mother, Monique, wanted to spend every free minute with her. Of course, Deirdre understood that - Monique lived alone in a huge mansion for a big portion of the year - but it didn't mean she wasn't happy to be able to breathe freely now.
Even though it was her O.W.L year, Deirdre didn't feel particularly scared. Her grades were good enough for her to be confident. However, the career counseling part did worry her, as she had no idea what she wanted to do after graduation.
That was why Deirdre had ventured to the Legal Section of the Library as soon as she'd gotten back at school, searching for a possible future career path for herself.
After she had secured a few books, Deirdre immediately opened one of them and began reading as she walked down the stairs back to her Common Room. The sooner she read them, the better, Deirdre figured - it would be best if she managed to finish them before all kinds of homework were poured over her. She didn't have much time, too - she still hadn't unpacked, and with the load of things Monique had gifted her, that would probably remain the center of her attention for a while.
Lost in the history and variations of magical law, Deirdre didn't see the boy before she circled the corner and crashed right in the box he was holding. Luckily, neither she nor he fell. The box did, though, and by the sound that came out of it Deirdre knew it had been glass in it.
She quickly closed her book and began apologising to the cross boy, "Oh, I'm terribly sorry! I didn't watch where I was going..."

| Anthony's eyes followed the vials as they collided with the hard, stone floor, and then rose to meet those of whoever had been careless enough to walk straight into him. It was a girl in his year that he'd never spoken to - that wasn't strange, because he never spoke to anyone. She had dark hair and blue eyes and was rushing into an apology the moment she realized what had happened.
Anthony's gaze settled into a glare. This stupid Hufflepuff deserved to be SHUNNED for being so clumsy and irritating. "Shun you, Hufflepuff!" he said angrily, cutting her off with his building anger. "Shun, Shun, Shun!" Okay, maybe that was a little extreme, but she'd broken some pretty expensive vials. He didn't listen to a word of her apology, and interrupted her coldly. "Yeah, well, sorry doesn't fix my vials, does it?" Stupid Hufflepuff. With an irritated look at her, he pulled his wand from his pocked at pointed it lazily in the direction of the mess. "Reparo," he said dryly, watching the shards slide together until each one was perfectly sealed in place.
Ignoring the girl, he bent down to retrieve the now-fixed vials, placing them carefully back into the box they'd fallen from. "Maybe you should pay attention to wherever the hell you're going from now on," he said irritably from where he was crouched on the ground. Honestly, what kind of book was so important that she had to read it while she was walking through the halls. Didn't most people sit down to read books? "Most people try not to run into other people and make them drop a bunch of really expensive vials that they just bought."

| Deirdre flinched at the the harsh tone the boy spat 'Hufflepuff' with, but tried to finish her apology anyway. No permanent damage was done, she was sure - he could as well fix his objects with a spell - but, still, Deirdre wanted to be as polite as possible about it. The boy interrupted her coldly again. Ignoring his repeated 'shun you', which he should not be using at a girl, Deirdre narrowed her eyes and for the first time today, really looked at him. He was in her year, a transfer student whom she'd never talked to. She rarely talked to anyone in her classes, though. Deirdre remembered she'd been briefly aquintaced with his sister, Victoria, so his last name had to be Campero. He had tanned skin and dark hair, and was a bit taller than her. The fact that he was a Gryffindor somehow explained the 'Hufflepuff' earlier, too. After finishing his accusation (which Deirdre decided not to reply to), Campero, just like she had sispected, pulled out his wand and fixed his vials in a split second. He began picking and putting them back in their box carefully. While still on the floor, Campero began talking to her angrily again. This time Deirdre was all ears, deciding to at least defend herself before the boy stromed out like she was sure he would do. There was no point in being polite to people that couldn't appreciate the effort. "In case you weren't paying attention, I did not run into you on purpose, something that you could at least take into consideration before lashing out at me," Deirdre spat, enjoying the brief look of surprise that passed Campero's features. "When people apologize to you, the respectful thing to do is accept their apology. 'Sorry' didn't fix your vials, but you did, so was there a point in starting an argument?"Deirdre fixed the strap on her bag with her free hand, eyes still narrowed at Campero. This was the closest she'd been to yelling for a while. - Spoiler:
OOC: Just to let you know, I'm probably not going to be able to reply for a few days, but I'll get to it as fast as I can.

| Why the hell was Anthony stuck in this stupid castle full of stupid people and stupid Hufflepuffs who ran into him and broke all of his things? How was he going to survive two years longer in this place? When the girl retorted angrily, he looked up in slight surprise and raised an eyebrow at her. But after a moment, his features settled back into a glare. He had thought that Hufflepuffs weren't supposed to have any backbone. Apparently this one did. But she was still annoying.
"Oh, sorry," he said sarcastically, placing the last vial neatly in the box and hoisting it back into his arms. "If I'd realized that I wasn't acting respectful, I would have never pointed out how clumsy and annoying you are," he scoffed. Honestly, did he look like somebody who cared about being respectful?
This girl had unfortunately caught him in a not-so-great mood - which would have been fine if she hadn't crashed into him. And he hadn't started an argument. He'd just stated a few obvious facts. She was the one who'd started arguing back with him. But she was obviously too daft to realize this, so he kept it to himself. "Who are you, anyway?" Yeah, she was in his year. No, he didn't have a clue who she was. Anthony didn't know who anyone was, because he didn't care.
Anthony wasn't in the mood to talk to her any longer, but he was at least curious to find out her name after all of this. So he stayed rooted to the spot, looking at her expectantly. He wasn't going to introduce himself first because that might make him look too polite. And Anthony was anything but polite. And it wasn't like he was in a rush, anyway. He didn't have friends - or a life. So it wouldn't be a bad thing to kill a little time fraternizing with this irritating girl.

| Deirdre was losing precious time she would much rather spend reading instead of glaring the Campero. He didn't seem to have the slightest intention of backing down, though, so the girl stood her ground and didn't move as the Gryffindor picked his last vial, secured the box back in his arms and got up. She was almost eye-to-eye to him, now.
When he began talking again, Deirdre wasn't surprised at the sarcastic tone - apparently, Victoria's nice personality wasn't something that ran in the family - and instead focused on being offended by the choice of words. 'Clumsy', she could agree on, but 'annoying' just annoyed her back. What, once girl speaks up to a boy she is immediately irritating?
Deirdre was going to tell Campero as much, but that would probably provoke him further and she was already wasting way too much time on this pointless argument. She was already thinking of a witty comeback to theatrically leave the stage with, once and for all, when Campero opened his mouth again and asked the least expected thing.
Deirdre blinked, before answering sternly, "I'm Deirdre Seamore." After a moment's hesitation, she added,"Campero, yeah?"
She had no idea where the so-called conversation was going now, but she hoped it didn't take too long - she had more important things to attend to - reading, for instance.
