| It was a girl. A beautiful baby with a lock of blonde hair and wide, curious blue eyes that stared up at her solemnly and made her heart swell with compassion. She obviously took after her mother with striking looks like that. Her tiny hands were curled up into little fists. Adorable, she was angry like her mother too. It was rare for Jennifer Moss to care so much and to feel so over-the-moon-happy that she could hardly breathe, but it happened very occasionally, and this must be that occasion.
After a couple of days, she finally got out of hideous St Mungo’s. She had really grown to hate the hospital in the time she’d spent there. All she’d wanted was to be discharged and to go home with her baby, but instead she had to cope with checks, odd potions, not being allowed to spend every waking moment with the brat and obnoxious, irritating healers. At least it was over now. Although it had seemed like years rather than days that she’d spent there, it was over now. She could get back to fresh air and familiar surroundings and not talking to people, least of all annoying healers.
Her mother came to London to pick her up by muggle car, for apparating would just be stupid and she wasn’t fit to drive herself, what with feeling so dazed and confused. There was little talk on the short car journey to her apartment. Jen gently hugged Leila and walked towards the building, carefully holding baby in her little carrier. She twisted the key in the lock of her door and eagerly stepped inside, breathing a loud sigh of relief at being back where she felt safe and comfortable.
Immediately, the blonde collapsed on her leather sofa. Not actually collapsed. No, she cared far too much about the brat to be so careless and inconsiderate. She sat down slowly, cradling baby in her arms. She was so bloody adorable. It was awkward and loveable and annoyingly heart-warming. Jen just didn't know what to do with this perfect, beautiful freak of nature.
